RE: the "bees shouldn't be able to fly" myth, it's particularly about bumble bees and the way they do it is their wing muscles, essentially, have a "clutch," which allows them to warm the muscles as though they were moving their wings without actually doing so. Then, they can "pop the clutch" and peel off into the sky with more stored energy than if they were moving their wings from a cold start. :D

RE: The "pulls their bums off" bit, that's honey bees (and probably some other species as well.) What's happening is that their stinger is barbed & attached to a poison sack (and some other organs.) when they sting, the barbed stinger implants in the wound and, as they fly away leaving the stinger, poison sack, & guts behind, the poison sack continues to pump venom into the wound. It doesn't happen with all bees or wasps, just the ones that have this particular stinger construction

30:39 The game trope that Jane is talking about here is exactly why I gave up on Star Wars the Old Republic. I made a Sith assassin, tried to play as a cool and calculative as possible, attempting to do the dialogue options that erred more on the side of manipulation than brute force. But the second I'm on the planet after the starting zone, my mentor tells me of a dangerous Sith who wants me dead. So I, wanting to stick with my predilection towards subterfuge and intrigue, went with an option that said something to the effect of, "There has to be some other way." thinking that this would lead to my character asking about ways to poison or sneakily off this rival. But NOPE!! My gal winds up sounding like a cowardly, quivering, neurotic wretch who never would've survived the first day at the academy that she just left, saying some crap like "But, I can't take down a master Sith."

The least these developers could do is either give us ALL of what our characters are going to say (like in KOTOR or New Vegas), or give us some kind of indication of how we're going to say stuff in the dialogue menu when all they do is give us the gist.

Ahhh, the Maldives... which is of course French for "Jumping into water is bad." That Mk2 Briefcase packs some amazing new tech in there - not only does it feature a highly-accurate target tracking computer and cutting edge anti-grav technology to allow it to fly independently and make in-flight course corrections, but it also features an extremely efficient cryogenic chamber which allows safe and intact storage of a snowball even in the tropical heat of the Indian Ocean. Sadly with all this extra tech there is only room in the briefcase itself for a rolled-up flannel and a toothbrush, but that's the price you pay for such performance.

Okay a couple of things....Luffas are vegetables that grow on trees, nothing to do with the ocean. And fun Bee fact...the buzzing sound they make is not their wings. It comes from small holes along the side of their bodies called spiricles. They use them for breathing and can change the pitch of the buzzing sound like a voice. Done👍

Jane, you do know (i hope) that there was a time when they did put the whole conversation options in the dialog system in every rpg game (and any other game with option to talk). It was a normal thing ... and then Mass Effect came and the world went insane, and nothing was normal ever again. How i miss Planscape: Torment dialogs with 14+ options to choose from ... and all of them made sens hehe :D

When I was at school we had regular practice drills for the fire alarm. Then the one time we had a real alarm, but it was because a pipe burst and water was leaking into the computer room. So the only real fire alarm was because of water. Also, not exactly a fire alarm, but we had university student protests here a few years ago and the police were called in to calm them down. The one day we couldn't leave our building for a while because there was tear gas around the building.

So the premise of this map is that this tropical resort primarily deals in manufactured identities - rich folk go there to avoid paparazzi, and successful criminals go there to have them craft a fake ID they can use out in the normal world safely. Diana linked the Tobias Rieper name to a series of extremely lucrative heists in recent years, so as to present 47 as a retiring, massively successful catburglar. *That* is the profile Ljudmila is working from, though stuff she says later in that story scenario suggests she figures out that a murder contract would not be out of the realm of possibility at some point. That said, she doesn't figure out you're actually on such a mission unless you screw up.

talking about bad fire alarm experiences; i was showering at the y(mca) after going to the pool and a toddler pulled the fire alarm. lead to 13 or 14 year old me panicking and running outside in just a towel, confused and naked. luckily, one of the lifeguards realized i wasn't wearing any clothes and gave me her tee-shirt (she had on a bathing suit) so i could cover up until i could go back inside and get dressed. awkward experience to say the least.

Regarding the socks: obviously, Agent 47 is a perfectionist, the disguise has to be perfect, the Captain would wear the socks. If the game offered the option to ditch the socks, the mission would fail with "Desynchronized: Agent 47 put on every sock. EVERY sock, even the ugliest and stinkiest ones."
