No that's not the point... He never expected test the agent would just willingly give the only weapons he had... 47 had much more brute strength and the other agent realized that, so instead of getting pinched in an impossible situation, he decided to back out, and try a different way, but while he was agile and flexible enough to duck down quickly, his swords weren't gonna fit in that space, and also he didn't have time to adjust the swords sideways before 47 pushed the whole panel shut... So its extremely justified that 47 was stultified about that move, as its basically suicidal... Its the same thing as a lizard detaching its own tail to confuse the predator and run away... It was a hail Mary effort and ultimately it didn't pay off...

With how choreographed the whole preparing bit was, I can only imagine they were trained to do that at some point in their assassin school "Alright lads, so at some point in your careers, you might find yourself staring down the barrel of the gun of one of your fellow agents as you pursue the same target. Now you might ask yourself: 'well, we're certainly in a pickle, what am I going to do now?' That's where this block of instruction comes in to play. We'll be practicing getting rid of your pistols, drawing and crossing your blades with your opponent, and beginning the age old ritual of 'stab that bloke before he knifes you'. No real shakey cam, good stuntwork, good choreography, maybe a little to many cuts, but not enough to be considered annoying. It's a shame that the rest of the movie is just so lackluster. Also, the actor playing Agent 47 is really good. He doesn't have the iconic voice that David Bateson had, but he sells the emotionless exterior covering a good heart part of his character pretty well.

1:39 If you look carefully there are three guns pointed at agent 47, three guns pointed at the black agent, but only 1 gun pointed at each of the other two agents (I assume they are a team). So it's not really an equal standoff, they latter two had a much better chance of coming out alive in a shootout and shouldn't have given up their advantage by switching to knives. And really, if you think about it, they had no reason to point the guns at the black agent in the first place because agent 47 was the one targeted by the agency. It definitely looked cool though.

This was by far the silliest part of the movie for me. Like I can't remember a single time in the games where 47 proved to be a master swordsman, though I'm sure he was, the whole 4 way duel thing is just hilarious. The funniest part is just that, 47 is apparently ALWAYS carrying 2 short swords on his back, like all the time, just in case of a situation like this.

you've got to love that strange level of professional curtesy among assassins/hitpeople in some movies, it's a strange phenomenon to come to terms with observing from the outside looking in... John Wick as another example portrayed this idea well also, mostly involving the neutral ground of The Continental, but also knife fights when it could've been guns, some instances it was for discretion but professionalism as well... that whole concept that it's not personal, it's just business, compared to most acts of violence perpetrated in society which is either completely personal, or business but with a personal touch... it makes us look at them as more human, and in doing so can have us sympathize with them in an almost deluded way...
