Holy Sheet this thing is like- a 7000lb drag strip car that can go ANYWHERE. it was one of the most exhilarating rides I’ve been in, and I’ve raced Baja. Yeah. Having grown up playing and racing in the desert I'm very familiar with offroad racing. When compared to a regular truck with bolt on stuff the level of performance this truck has is on another level. Also IMO anyone who build their trucks with this long travel kit must include a legit cage... If you ball it up at the speeds the truck would be capable of and not have a cage... you're gonna look like spaghetti when it comes to a stop.

This is a really awesome video!! I needed clarification on the talk about 1-point harnesses. You should include a HANS device if you do anything greater than the standard 3-point harness. A 4-point without a HANS device is more dangerous than a 3-point without a HANS device. Is this true?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Жыл бұрын
Our discussions was about roll cages. Anything last a standard seat belt should not be used unless you have a roll cage. As for the hans decide, I honestly don’t know. I know it could not hurt to have one but most prerunner owners are not wearing a helmet or HANS device. Only those that are racing competitively do. And at that point safety equipment is dictated by the racing organization
@Bizeast2 жыл бұрын
Amazing video! How noticeable is the clicking from the bypass valves when riding in the cab? I'm assuming it's exaggerated in the frame mounted Gopro footage since the bypass shocks are also mounted to the frame. Always wondered about that. Thanks and I hope one of these builds is in your channels future! Looks like a perfect tax deductible business expense to me. "work truck"😉
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
You can hear it in the cab. In the clips in this video you can hear it. It can get loud, specially when your going fast down the trail and that’s why head sets are a must offroad with these trucks. They do insulate the cab with dynamat material but because the shocks are connected to the frame and cage, all the noise cannot be dampened out of the cab. That’s why full cage builds are not for everyone

Anything more than a 1 point lap belt gives you a false sense of security. You may think you can run faster than the capabilities of the truck and if and when you get in trouble, the stock roof cannot handle a roll over. With conventional seats belts or a lap belt, if you roll you can move out of the way and stay safe. With a 5 point harness your strapped in and your dead the moment the roof collapses and you cannot get out of the way. There is no cage to keep the roof from collapsing on you and killing your.

So your truck built the way it is really wouldnt be able to take that terrain at least at half the speed the HM truck was going? Or is it because your suspension isnt tuned for that currently?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
My truck can take on whoops that are about 1-1.5 ft deep. With tuning I may be able to go a little deeper but not much. At Barstow you have whoops that are 2-3 ft deep and you need race truck suspension to handle those fast. I don’t have enough suspension travel and my back is bucking way too much to handle those.

Yeah man. Back and without the old partner. Just Kevin and a great kid that’s helping him and he’s improving on his kits to make them the very best kit on the market for F150s and Raptors

What’s the difference between a pre runner and a trophy truck
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
Frame, Windshields and AC. Trophy trucks are usually a full custom tube chassis with no windows and no comfort features. Body is all fiberglass too A prerunner is based on a frame truck and cab. Most of the frame is removed and or reinforced and you keep comfort features like AC, stereo, windshield, etc…. So it’s the more drivable truck. Trophy truck has to be trailered everywhere while a prerunner can be driven around the streets

Love the build just hate when ppl take a F150 build it then steal the Raptor looks. If u want a “ superior F150 with a 5.0 then be proud of that. Don’t try to pretend it’s a Raptor by making it look like one. Again not saying the build isn’t badass, it’s second to none
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
They don’t make an F150 styled fold out fiberglass hood. No one would buy it 🤷♂️. And let’s be honest here man. This is far superior than a raptor. Does not matter if the base is an f150 or not. This truck is on a whole other level and the styling don’t matter
@KAZ1092 жыл бұрын
There is no denying this is better than a Raptor or Raptor R… TRX …. Hell a TRX Redeye ( if they make it lol) my point was it always seems ppl want to copy the looks then call it a Raptor killer ( in this case rightfully so)

Kit price is about the same as an SVC mid travel kit. Just a little bit more because of the shock bucket is completely replaced. Contact Kevin for a quote. His contact details are in the description

You cannot compare stock and custom build. Raptor is made with on road (daily) and off-road balance in mind.

What was that horrible rattling sound in the cage??
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad11 ай бұрын
🤣🤣 those are the shocks. Bypass race shocks click and clack like that. The sound is the bypass valves doing their job and a noise you will always hear offroad. The noise is made worse by the cage. Those shocks are connected to the cage and that cage tuning resonated the sound in the cab. If you do a non caged truck with his long travel kits you get similar performance with not as much sound in the cab. You can hear some of it yeah, but not as much.
