It's nice toga know that another world class asset is available to NATO to keep us safe and deter the enemies. Knowing that USS Ford is in the European theater too makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Especially when I think of the Russian rustbucket they like to call an aircraft carrier - Admiral Kuznetsov.. LOL.

The UK hasn't bought enough F-35's as yet. They've been working up with US F35's as well as the ones the UK has got so far.

This was in port before she deployed, they won't be landing or launching fighter jets while the ship is moored in the middle of a city. Once the ship was out at sea her air wing landed and are currently deployed with her.

The aircraft usually join the ship out at off the coast. They fly in from bases all over the country.

it's normal for the air group to fly off the carrier, being based at some NAS while the carrier is in harbor. you can't have flight ops while she's alongside, so if you want the a/c to do something, they need to be ashore. they'll rejoin the carrier when she is at sea. common practice.
