To help stay motivated just remember that every time you don’t waste money on random little bits of stuff that you don’t need, you’ll be one step closer to that big bay window that you do need. Keep up the good work!

You could work on a craft corner in your basement to motivate yourself, just like you did for your son's play area! With a desk facing his play area, you could then see him play while you are crafting. Keep up the great work! xx

Here is a suggestion - turn all your hangers in your closet backward. When you wear something - turn the hanger forward. At the end of the year - you will know what you wore and what you didn't.

I’m glad to hear you say that you know you have to bring more out than you take in; it’s so true. I saw (Joshua Becker, I think is his name) say we have all these rituals about receiving gifts (things) and none about getting rid of things - it really adds up! Add shopping onto that and the clutter can really get to be a lot. I love that you’re not buying clothes, shoes, accessories & water bottles this year - we all have plenty & should use them up!

I have done the same with checking books out from the library. I used to buy books and highlighted things too that I wanted to easily find. I get excited when I see how much you go through. I see $$ signs on if you would sell the items. But that is just my way of thinking. Getting things out of the house quickly is better. We went to the glass snaplock containers to store food in the refrigerator/freezer. We only keep 3 or 4 plastic containers to send food home with family. Have fun decluttering! Every thing decluttering out will be a great feeling.

One thing I always do when I’m doing a no-spend period of time is I go through everything and organize the items already in my home. I have time to do this because I’m not out shopping or spending time in stores or dreaming up projects that I’ll need to buy supplies for. At the end of the process I always end up feeling so blessed and filled by the abundance I already have. And that frees my heart to purge the things I’ve lost interest in as my taste and interests have changed. It changes the feeling of the process from deprivation to contentment.

These are some great rules, I'm sure by the end of the year the amount of money saved will be very eye opening and rewarding. I found the best way to help the shopping urges was to just not go into any shops! Supermarket only and if I need anything else I go directly to the item and don't walk round the rest of the shop. I also removed myself from any email lists as the 'today only sales' are s huge trigger to spend. I don't look on shopping websites unless I specifically need something. Honestly, if you don't see the items you're 'missing out' on it's really easy to not buy anything. Once you're out the habit you stop even thinking about purchasing new things all the time.

I keep a bag at front door to drop in bag so on fridays I deliver to my choice of donations. ( about 12 items a week- slow and at eas. Thanks for your helpful video’s❤️

Do you have any advice on "doom boxes"? it's an ADHD term where you want to tidy so you just shove things into drawers/boxes, so it LOOKS tidy but it's actually just totally random stuff, nothing is stored "like-with-like" I feel like the only way to sort it is to dump everything out into a pile and sorting everything into like-with-like piles, but the thought of that sounds SO overwhelming

Last summer Consumer Reports did a 2 part report on bottled water. It never occured to me that the FDA does not require that bottled water be tested for contaminates. Some of the bottled water CR tested did not test well. In fact, the average tap water tested better. One of the bottled water was actually water straight out of the tap! A crime when you pay a premium for it.

I've been biting/picking my nails since I was 3 as a nervous habit due to an insecure family life. I've been trying to break that habit and I'm so close right now... white on all my nails and I recently found color street. Love the glitter and it definitely helps, but the mindless fiddling I do with my fingers often finds the snags with the stickers and I end up peeling them off. Still trying. Love the glitter color street stickers!

I wish from the bottom of my heart that you can make a craft station with a very nice display (just like in the store) for yourself in the basement. Because you love yourself and cherisch your creative talents that God gave to you 💕💞🦄

Thank you for mentioning plastic water bottles! I just ordered a Berkey water filter. Plastic is so bad for the environment! For me: the only things I buy anymore are reference books and gardening seeds.

Can you compare 2 items to choose the one you like best. Also, try finding your color palette clothes and hair wise. This has helped me limit and co-ordinate my wardrobe since I was a teenager--about 30 years. I am NOT suggesting a very small wardrobe, but this does end up happening after you understand you palette.
