Cockta is not meant to be another version of coca cola. Its herbal soft drink and its just coincidence that it looks like coke on first sight:)
@primoz123120 күн бұрын
No its not coincidence. It was designed because it was meant to compete with it, as Coca Cola wasnt sold in Yugoslavia yet. Before anyone asks, why would it compete if it wasnt sold. Because it was expected that Coca Cola would come to the market, so they wanted a head start. Its advantage is, that it doesnt contain any caffeine like Coca Cola does, so pregnant and breastfeeding women can enjoy it without the worry of affecting the baby.
@primozsever136718 күн бұрын
@@primoz1231 What you're saying, complete bullshit... Sodas became popular trough the whole world back then, everybody came up with their own product... Cocta, Orangina, Spetzi... It has nothing to do with Coca Cola not being sold in Yugoslavia, also caffeine doesn't effect the baby...

As a Croatioan now living in Slovenia I agree - I lived in Germany and Austria and Slovenia Tops them all. I love my homeland Croatia but Slovenia is another planet for us. It's literally Switzerland in the east. Sadly in prices as well - the cost of real estates in Ljubljana is higher than in Vienna or Germany. B Funny i met A LOT of US citizens moving here, for them living here is realeativelly still cheap...
@sh4rkhappy20 күн бұрын
As slovenian with average income of 1300 per month, slovenia is not cheap anymore. Food is so expensibe now and not to mention apartments... just beyond me where have we gotten in just few years. But the funny thing is there si soo soo many newly build houses and everyone drives a new car from 20-100k eur. It makes you wonder how is that possible.
@matt723220 күн бұрын
@@sh4rkhappy I am a factory worker and my income is netto between 2k and 3k. More than in DE and same as in Austria. In Croatia i got below 1k/month. Even regular workers with no school earn around 2k per month ( with extra time and night shifts ) and I barely know almost no Slovenian who earns less than 1,5k /month now. Salaries are gotten so high and as you said - this resulted in real estate market....

Our Slovenia is expensive for us living here. Our incommes are not high. So prices for us in a more tourist places are high, so we do not compliment us so much as tourist do. I'm glad that you explored new places than Ljubljana and Lake Bled. If you comein Slovenia again you should go visit our east side of country. There are many vineyards too. The green vegetable in a potatoe in swiss chard in Pirans dishes. And yes there is influence of Italy and Croatia witch was in a history not so far away the same country in a cosral region. Ljubljana is a mix of many arcitectual styles and influences like German, Italian, easten European. More west you go you see difference. Maribor is also beautiful or Ptuj and maybe in our hen beak (Slovenia is in a shspe of hen) Murska Sobota with surovdings. Thank you for visiting!

Ljubljana dragon is not the dragon of St. George, it is a dragon from the Jason & Argonauts (Greek mithology). Edit: Argonauts stopped at Ljubljana marshes and killed a dragon there when they traveled from the Black Sea to the Adriatic. Edit no2: Death of Erasmus is an old Habsburg propaganda.

Protip: Calling anything other than Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova Eastern Europe is asking for trouble. Use the map of EU member countries to find the border. After the fall of the USSR, most countries that were under it's influence prefered to be considered either Baltic, Central or South-East Europe. You can be forgiven for lagging 30 years of history. Slovenia however (then part of Yugoslavia) was never behind the iron curtain. So it was not in Eastern Europe even on the maps from the Cold War era. You're welcome.
