Check your weight and balance with your battery placement. It makes all the difference in being able to plane out and fly. Too much weight up front and it will just plow along nose high.

Since boats r cooled by the water does that mean u can get a high kv motor for them and not have to worry about them over heating?

Not necessarily, no - load and friction play a big part in whether or not the motor overheats, whether it is water-cooled or not. I think lower kV motors work better anyway because they have a bit more torque than higher kV motors (correct me if I'm wrong, somebody).

ThatBoatGuyUK kv means revs per volt so that's your rpm, for torque you would refer to the turns of the windings. so a 12turn motor would have more torque than a 14turn motor. a 3500kv motor would have a higher rpm than a 2500kv motor. brushless rules XD

You can usually find Fly Sky GT series for really cheap everywhere. I got my GT3B off ebay for $80 a few years back and it's always performed wonderfully.

The KV on your motor does not stand for Killivolts. That number is referring to RPM per volt.

I use silicone tubing. It seals well and lasts a long time plus it's flexible.

The battery won't leak. It's a lithium polymer. The guy driving the boat is in charge of the pool.

+drkastenbrot A brushed motor will also run under the water . Years ago running a brushed motor under water was the prefered way to break in the brushes on a new motor. Think there are still some videos out there showing this.

personally i dont like any motor getting wet, to answer your question.. brushed motors are open and brushless is pretty much sealed, however water can still get in through the front bearing, but it would not fill up as would a brushed motor.

Apparently i read that wrong. Your talking about the kv rating on the motor. Lol then yes your close. the number of revolutions per minute that the motor will turn when 1V (one Volt) is applied with no load attached to the motor. Jane Smith I actually got the info from Flitetest, they do RC planes and multirotors and they talked about that in one there episodes. Its a common mistake that most people make when addressing electric motors.
