I love this channel!! I just gave you an intro shout out on my last B-52 video. Watching this closely, and loving it. I used to make Harrier engine parts, my Mother was a senior engineer on the Pegasus and visited Cherry point on occasion.

Lol...you need to work on the wave Nigel;). This kit sounds like it’s right up your alley...although it might drive you a little mad as I know you’re one who puts a lot of effort into making things accurate (something that’s really really lacking in this kit).

That is absolutely beautiful! All those finite details at the end really came together in harmony and made it all pop! Excellent job and that seat is as real as they get! I just came off two weeks of vacation myself and had to re adjust my 45 year old eyes back to my project as well!!! Got a 1/200 747 going for my brother. Will catch up with part 5 tomorrow, taking my old ass to bed for now! LOL!

The step/handle work looks great. I’m blown away with the cockpit buddy. The sprue on top of the knobs is such a touch of realism. I know what you mean about getting older. I trust you had a good vacation. Here in the UK they have been banned for the last three months because of CV-19 but just in the last few days we can travel again. I want to come to the USA but unfortunately it seems that the USA is experiencing some difficulties with this virus so take care and stay safe. I will visit next year hopefully. Anyway as has been said your cockpit looks awesome and I'm looking forward to the next video. I think customising and adding extra detail makes the model more individual and a more satisfying build. When its finished there is more of you in it, its not just and assembly and paint job.

Hi Sean, your channel is really underrated regarding views and followers. I sense that it is not really bothering you - and i hope it doesnt. You have a unique way making your videos and yes, making your models. I can understand that the „coffee-siping-hey-fellas-guy isnt for anybody. But once one get used to you and the way you do your videos - i find them entertaining, informative and relaxing too. Just keep they way you are - i would love to be rather a hidden gem then everybodys darling.

Cockpits aren’t your forte? I wish I had your lack of ability! That looks fantastic. That’s one thing about Hobby Boss/Trumpeter. They have some great subject matter that is often completely devoid of detail. A superdetailers dream (or nightmare).

Those scratch built knobs look great and show lots of patience. I do have a question for you if you'd care to respond. I've started using some Tamiya X/XF paints for brush painting, (normally I use the Testors Model Master Military colors) I do not airbrush as I obtain great results with good brushes and a light hand. However, after using these Tamiya paints I've had paint pulling up on the second pass and "balling/marbleing" of the paint even after thinning. Today I finished a frame section on a P-51 and just before the paint was dry I used Tamiya X-20 thinner sparingly over the painted areas smoothing out the high/low areas. Any suggestions?
@seanerk5kt94 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ted. My first suggestion is not to use Tamiya acrylics for brush painting. I’d recommend vallejo model color thinned with vallejo thinner and a bit of vallejo retarder medium. That’s what I normally use for brush painting. With that said, I do occasionally use tamyia acrylics for brush painting but it’s very tricky. Tamiya will lift and roll if you apply a second coat before it’s dry or if you make multiple passes. When I use it, I find I get the best results thinning it with x-20a and adding a drop of Tamiya acrylic paint retarder. I’ll make one pass, let it dry (with the help of a hair dryer), then make another pass, let it dry, and repeat till I get the opacity I want. I’d also recommend applying it over a good coat of primer as it doesn’t stick well to bare plastic. Hope that helps.

I hate to bother you again...but is there one place that you can buy most aircraft colors. I'm thinking of junking all my other brands and switch over to Vallejo.
@seanerk5kt94 жыл бұрын
I’m not aware of a set with exactly what you’re looking for. I know they sell them in sets though. Amazon is a good place to start. I’d just make sure you stick with model color and not model air. The latter is for airbrushing and doesn’t brush paint as well as the model color variety imo.
@matk47314 жыл бұрын
Wow that’s awesome🤤. Well done sir 👏. If you are 45 & not using some sort of magnification for those tiny parts you are doing well 🤨😉.I don’t like doing 1/72 stuff because I cannot see it 🤣😂. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃

Could you make your life easier with the switches by putting relatively long pieces of stretched sprue into your pre-drilled holes, glueing them in and then snipping them to length?
@seanerk5kt94 жыл бұрын
That’s easier said than done. Since the switches are somewhat fragile, I find it much easier to get them as close as I can and as a last resort, snip a couple here and there if needed. Trying to cut them all to length after they’re on, would likely end in many just completely breaking off.
