Korey: He could kill something and write the note in blood. Martin/Chris: Yeah the people of Salem would love a note in blood. Korey: I don't even know why there is a crematorium in a school. 23:11 the actor who plays human Thackery is the same guy who plays Agent McGee on NCIS. The voice actor who takes over the role for the rest of the movie is the same guy who plays teenage Max Goof in the two Goofy movies. Even when Thackery appears as a ghost in the end, for some reason it’s not the actor’s own voice, but rather the Max Goof guy still dubbing him. I also work at Disney World and when we have the Halloween celebration in Magic Kingdom, the Sanderson sisters take over the stage at Cinderella’s castle, the show is narrated by the Max Goof actor repiecing his role as Thackery over the sound system. Why the other actor did so little, I have no idea🤷🏻♀️

This doesn't feel like a Disney movie. This feels more like a Warner Brothers movie.
@jbwarner86262 жыл бұрын
It's one of the last vestigial traces of Disney's edgier live-action fare that took off in the '80s, when they made really wild stuff like The Watcher in the Woods and TRON and Return to Oz. There was a little bit of it left after this - The Santa Clause has some surprisingly raunchy jokes in it, and Operation Dumbo Drop is kind of unusual as a comedy set during the Vietnam War - but by the late '90s, the edge was completely gone. That's when we got junk like Mr. Magoo and My Favorite Martian and Inspector Gadget that didn't have a brain in its head.

The sequel definitely feels like a Disney movie...unfortunately
@jbwarner86262 жыл бұрын
@@PhilHug1 The sequel fits snugly into the modern Disney trend of "there are no villains anymore, and even the most horrible characters have sympathetic backstories." Like... okay, if you wanna do that for an original story, fine, that can work. Encanto and Turning Red pulled it off great. But when you take established villains like Maleficent or Cruella DeVil and go "Look, they're human after all!", something doesn't click. Those villains didn't need tragic histories or a more sympathetic portrayal, they were fun _because_ they were rotten to the core, and you rooted all the more for the heroes to overcome them. The Sanderson Sisters don't need to learn about the loving bonds of family togetherness, and we don't need to see them as poor abused children forced into arranged marriages. They were just three crazy old hags who ate kids' souls, and that was all the first movie needed to be great. And this is that trap that Disney always falls into when they do sequels or prequels or remakes now - their idea of keeping things fresh for the audience is changing who the characters are, then trotting them through a plot we've already seen. That's the opposite of how it should be. A good sequel should introduce a new challenging scenario for established characters, but who they are should remain consistent.
@collectingmythoughts9912 жыл бұрын
The only dark part of the ending for me was killing off the most loveable villains since The Joker...I just saw it as Binx finally being freed of his curse and reunited with his sister while finding retribution by protecting Dani...Really as happy as you could get unless you're a fan of the sisters like me. lol

I always theorized that Thackery didn’t speak either because newly turned he didn’t know how meaning it may have taken him years to learn to talk with a cat’s vocal cords or as we don’t see him talk until after the witch’s are resurrected maybe his ability to speak is connected to that. His immortality is tied to them, ending only when the candle burned out, so maybe with them dead he couldn’t speak. He doesn’t appear until after they’ve dead so sadly perhaps he just arrived too late.

I just saw this movie for the first time a few days ago, and I was surprised by what it did with the bully characters. As a kid growing up in the 80s and 90s I was exposed to way more mature rated movies than kids now in 2024. Movies were able to be more creative in the 80s and 90s because they didn't have to be afraid of over sensitive society we live in now. Im glad Korey pointed it out and I also noticed how Sarah Jessica Parkers character always had a sexual desires for other characters in the movie.
