It is fascinating to me how all the elements within a culture can vary so greatly just based on where you live, individualism, power distance, indulgence, etc. I think it is very informative knowing how cultures operate, in case you are ever in a business situation when its vital to have an understanding of it.

I found this video really engaging because Hofstede's framework highlights key cultural traits and shows how these traits can vary across different cultures. I enjoy exploring how cultures compare and contrast with one another. The six characteristics discussed in the video can be useful for understanding different work environments and identifying where certain cultural traits may be more effective. However, it's important to keep in mind that, like any framework, this one has its limitations.

This video did a great job at defining the Hofstede Framework and the components that tie into it. This video signified the importance of rising cultural diversity in the workforce. Based from what I learned in this video, I think it's important for us to understand this framework as it helps us understand one another and embraces strong companionship in the workforce. Businesses use this to their advantage by recognizing and adapting to these growing cultural dimensions to lead effective international operations and grow cross-cultural relations with other countries.

I never knew what the Hofstede Cultural Framework was before this course, but now that I know what is it, it seems very important when trying to understand culture. I like how informing the public on cultural diversity can also bring everyone together, as we can understand each other better. Seeing the different approaches in Hofstede's findings, I found it very useful when learning about what culture diversity is.

Hofstede cultural framework is incredibly useful in the world of business and negotiations. This has been the most interesting thing I've learnt about all semester, spanning all of my classes. The fact that their is a breakdown of a nationality that allows you to quickly grasp the generalities of a country and how to associate and talk with them is incredibly crucial for the world of business.

Hofstede's culural framework helps in the breaking down and understanding of how and why societies influence and change the course of business. There is an endless list of factors affecting the trajectory of business, but Hofstede creates a simple and concise understanding of the influence of different curltures. The main point I took away was understanding that every country's businesses are going to be run depending on the culture of the specific country. It is so important to be open to learning of other cultures and how they do business in order to maintain successful business amongst themselves.

Individualism and Collectivism is one of my favorite things to learn about. Often times than not, I learn a new perspective to think about when making decisions and how it affects others.

This video and class definitely have me intrigued by Hofstede's Cultural Framework. How he breaks up the six dimensions to compare different cultures is interesting and helpful. I found the short-term orientation and long-term orientation dimension fascinating. Just like how businesses have short and long-term goals, countries and the societies within them do the same: either focus on their short or long-term success. I appreciate that this video also points out the limitations of Hofstede's Cultural Framework, especially the one that stated Hofstede assumes there is a one-to-one correspondence between culture and a nation-state.

This video taught me how diversity not only is a good thing but something we need to help diversify culture not only in jobs but all aspects. The framework consist of power distance index- how acceptable, individualism v. collectivism - whether society works together or not, uncertainty avoidance- degree to which a society engages in conflict, masculinity v. Femininity- how harsh gender roles are, long- term v. Short-term orientation- extent to which society views time, indulgence v. Restraint- extent to which society allows gratification.

I believe this is a good video on Hofstede's theory about how cultures work. Even though he was only looking at one company, I believe he did a great job nailing down some key aspects about different cultures. He hit the nail on the head with individualism and collectivism, and how the U.S. and Europe are more individual, while Middle East countries are more group-oriented and collective as a society. This video is good to explain why some countries do the things they do; great video!

It's important to understand from a business perspective that we as individuals have varying experiences and different ways of thinking through situations. I enjoyed how this video took Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory and showed how countries created their values. The idea is very simple to understand that countries cultural values are created by the interactions within the country. Many countries are just now receiving foreign investment long enough for us to see how foreign impacts can actually alter a countries value as well. I believe that there is more that can be said about countries and their values beyond just the Hofstede theory, but the theory works well in showcasing it simply.

Having the the country recieve these numerical scores to compare to another culture do show the some of the differences in the values of cultures, which is important when visiting a foreign culture and to be respectful. This was an especially interesting video to watch since I hope to work in other countries in the future, by having this outlook and possibly applying the framework to compare a new country to my own counrties' scores, I can see how much adapting I will need to do and what changes to highlight so that I can be successful in my travels.

Hofstede's cultural framework is fascinating because it classifies individuals based on their fundamental traits, experiences, and knowledge into various dimensions. This enables companies to gain a better understanding of how their product, market, and ultimately their success will be able to scale in other nations or even in different regions within our own.

I found this video very interesting because although i had previously heard of Hofstede's cultural framework before I did not quite understand it. The video put each dimension into very simple terms which helped me better understand masculinity and the indulgence frameworks which I did not get how these would affect the business world.

I enjoyed learning about Hofstede's Cultural Framework and it was neat to try to guess how the United States ranked within each dimension and then see the answer. However, from the beginning, I was interested in knowing more about Hofstede in order to understand what biases he could have had when creating each measure and ranking each culture. I am glad that this video addressed the limitations of the framework, and wish that we had a framework that was created by a diverse group of people to see less biased results.

American business culture is different than other business cultures around the world. It is imperative in the United States to understand the cultural background of different people from varying backgrounds to better manage and run a business. Analyzing the six different topics can provide great insight into business decision making.

This video is pretty interesting because it is always fascinating learning about other cultures. Growing up in a Italian/English family there was a lot of Individualism as it was scene more to protect the family over anything else.

I really enjoyed this video. It is very interesting to me the difference between the long term and short-term orientation. It makes sense to me that the United States falls under the short-term category. I also liked that with each culture there were countries tied to them to give better ideas of what the culture is like.

Hofstede's cultural framework is quite interesting because it takes the basics of a person's characteristics, knowledge, and experiences and categorizes them into different dimensions. This allows businesses to get a better grasp on how the product, market, and ultimately the success of a company will be able to scale in another country or even a different parts of our own country.
