I think Lionsgate owns the rights these days, the show was originally produced by Trimark (Turner wasn’t involved beyond picking up the syndication rights) and Lionsgate bought them out maybe 25 years ago.

As someone who was not a fan of wrestling when growing up in the 80s and 90s, Reliving the War has really changed my mind on that. I feel like I really missed out. I have been watching RtW for some time now and love it, and I am really enjoying this retrospective too. This is giving me some really strong nostalgia. Thank you and keep it up.

I've said it on your last 2 thunder in paradise posts...thank you so much for doing this series...I know these take time to put together...I really appreciate you continuing these...these bring so much nostalgia and you have the best review on them so far especially that your going by episode...I remember this one with sting I only got to see it once when I was a kid. I was such a sting fan back then I was actually rooting for him in this episode even though he was the villain. I always wondered if this is where the war games idea came from for the camouflage. Thank you again brother and hope to see you continue this series.

Other than that, there wasn't a lot of counter programming for me to not watch TIP. As I recall they dumped the whole “get married to save the hotel” subplot and killed Spencer’s new fake wife off-screen after the pilot because Hogan didn’t want his character to be tied down. They still gave him a love interest, but Hogan wanted Spencer to be free to romance various female guest stars.

It’s called they made a pilot episode (or in this case pilot made for TV movie), the network accepted it but required certain changes that they thought that would be better and so changes were made before the TV show would be able to continue in production. Typical how new TV series work

@@ImCaptainCabbage I think they realized that hiring her just based on looks wasn't a great idea, as she was a terrible actress. Or maybe she realized how goofy the show was. I'm glad they got rid of her and changed the child actress, as it all worked out. Test audiences probably had something to do with getting rid of the mom, though. It always seemed weird this heiress was a single mom anyway.

She actually went on to act for another 6 years I think, not really standing out. I guess looking pretty lends itself to one off guest appearances and soapies. I think this show may have been the last thing the original kid ever did. Strangely enough, as the kid in '3 men and a little lady' she probably still had a better career than mommy skuttle. Low bar but still kinda funny.

The 'Roid wasn't even training to become a wrestler yet when this episode of "Thunder" was first on the air. He probably stole the brow raise from Chris Lemmon... Maybe _he_ was the one person who watched the show in 1995, besides Hogan's buttlicker entourage. A lot of his acting choices could be based on studying this masterpiece of a TV show.

Little known fact...Thunder in Paradise was suppose to be the sequel to 3 Men and a Baby. With Hulk, his lackey and Thunder raising little Jessica. But it didn't work for Hulk so they went their own way.
