Members of Club X1/9 Aust have the opportunity to book some hoist time. The idea is to provide members the opportunity to repair their own X1/9. There are thousands of X1/9 parts in stock, as well as manuals and assistance when required.

Great video Mark. I acquired a 1981 X 1/9 about a month ago. I have watched all of your videos. They will be invaluable to me during my restoration process. Thanks again.

Clear & concise. Greta lighting & camera angles. Excellent job.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you found it clear and concise. I appreciate your feedback on the lighting and camera angles. However, I did make an error and recorded a fair portion of the video in 720p instead of 4K. I'll make sure to check that next time!

Another great video, Mark. But I have to ask: was that an AI narration? It didn’t sound like you and it had a very consistent cadence that made me think it may have been generated.

Yes, AI voice. The plan is to clone my own voice. The tech is just not there yet to get it perfect it has an American twang to the voice. It speeds up production considerably as I don't need to wait for a quiet time, and it takes less time to do.

@@x19australiaI get why you’re doing it but, at this stage of development, I’m not so sure it’s enhancing your videos. Sorry. Not meaning to be rude; just saying that your videos are good as they are.

I totally get where you're coming from, and I agree. Not using it to enhance the video was actually quicker for me, which was a real time saver. It's funny, as some people find it clear, while others prefer when I do the audio. Either way, I also prefer using my voice and will have a solution for that soon. Thanks for your feedback!

Good job mate. That brought back more memories and some nightmares. I have to admit on my car I left all of those bottom covers off just to try and get the heat out of there a bit better - it also helps for quick inspection Also you might be interested to know that Kent cams in England used to make a top cam pulley that was adjustable and you could back it off and hold the centre portion still and rotate the pulley a few degrees either way to dial the cam in spot on Worked very well - definitely made horsepower on the dyno with those adjustments

I have two of those CAMs in stock and am putting one in the white Bertone next week as the head was shaved. This red Bertone is original, so I am not looking to do any modifications to it, but yes, that works.

@@x19australia from memory they are made out of a aircraft type aluminium I seem to recollect after about three or four years. The teeth wore down quite a bit so I’m not so sure how robust they are for longevity…..but they definitely did a good job. …….

Honestly, it wasn't difficult. I actually find it similar to solving a puzzle or playing a game. I'm not a mechanic by trade, and truly, anyone can do this. I hope these videos encourage others to fix their cars as well.
