The Holden Equinox EPB system is different, when the EPB actuators are retracted via the diagnostic tool, it will pull the caliper pistons back with the actuators. The EBCM module monitors the brake fluid level and will abort the process if the fluid level is too high.
If the technician uses a tool to wind in the pistons to make room for the pad, this might damage the pressure sensors in the Electronic Brake Control Module.
If this has occurred a brake warning will display on the dash and a C0561:43 - “System Disabled Information Stored” fault code will be stored. If the pressure sensor is confirmed to be damaged, the Electronic Brake Control Module will need to be replaced.
