In Puerto Rico we make many different flavored Coquitos, I personally make traditional, chocolate, coffee and strawberry Coquito.

The latest trend that I want to try is pumpkin. Many people don't know, Puerto Rico also has ponche, but it isn't so common anymore. Check out Puerto Rican Dishes / Cocine a Gusto, or Puerto Rican Cookery / Cocina Criolla in the back, and there is Puerto Rican ponche/eggnog. I am trying to figure out how to replace eggs in it. I'll take tips. Thanks.

You guys should try Flor de Jamaica or Agua de Jamaica( hibiscus/ sorrel). It’s a Jamaican🇯🇲 holiday drink
@el_doro16182 күн бұрын
@@hectorfoster4488 Agua de jamaica is not Jamaican, it’s African. And with African migration to Mexico, they also make the beverage.
@hectorfoster4488Күн бұрын
@I say it that way because Jamaicans make a drink called sorrel for the holidays. I was trying to say it in Spanish, but I would like to be educated about that drink because I did hear about Flor De Jamaica in Mexico. It is cool to know that it is also an African, Mexican, and Afro-Mexican drink! One love ❤️🇯🇲🇲🇽🌍

I wonder if it is true that many Caribbean islands and other places in the world besides Jamaica and Mexico make a drink called Sorrel/ Hibiscus(Flor De Jamaica or Agua De Jamaica) as their holiday drink?

If you're using lactaid, try making a non-dairy version. There are various evaporated and sweetened condensed milks you can use like coconut or oat and you can make your own from your favorite alternative milk if the one you want isn't available. I also HIGHLY recommend making your own cream or coconut as it is QUICK, EASY, CHEAP and much better quality without all the junk added. I make an organic cream of coco which is better than Coco Lopez or any of that stuff. 1 13.5 oz can of coconut milk and 3/4 cup sugar. Heat the milk to steaming on medium, stirring occasionally and add sugar. Stir to dissolve and turn off heat. Let cool. It thickens up. Just stir and refrigerate or use immediately. Pro tip: if you're an animal lover, you can find brands that don't abuse monkeys to harvest the coconut. Most of that happens in Thailand and Sri Lanka, but even those countries have some brands that are monkey-free. Many mainstream brands are making the switch, but many are not, so vote with your money if you care. Happy holidays!
