This year is my holiday horror story. It's 4 days before Christmas and we have nothing. It's the first time I've not been able to pull off a miracle for my kiddo. She's 7 and nonverbal. Christmas is her favorite day. I'm literally unable to explain.

Great podcast episode. One year my mom decided to do all the Christmas shopping on Christmas eve and dragged me along with her. I had a panic attack and had to sit outside the mall in the snow to calm my breathing down and try not to pass out. When we got home she had me wrap all of the presents including the presents she got for me. It wasn't the worst Christmas but it's something that I will remember always and remind her on occasion.

@@billieeilish4735 yeah it was pretty awful but it is in the past. It happened when I was a freshman in high school. I've learned that I have a fear of crowds I'm not sure if it was from that experience alone or along with my experience at conventions. I do my best now to avoid crowds and places that are crowded during certain times of the year like grocery stores around the holidays. It still isn't the worst Christmas I've had. And my mom has tried to make up for it over the years.

Grandma's have trouble with pooping and peeing themselves because they all carried and pushed out a bunch of babies and their pelvic floor is completely destroyed. Either that, or dementia. They def don't just decide to casually crap themselves!!!!

I've never been forgotten on Christmas, but my whole family forgot my 17th birthday. My mom told me in the morning we were going to my cousins birthday party, why in the world would we be going out to dinner that night (what we had planned to do for my birthday), so I went thinking they would all say happy birthday/maybe have a surprise party for me... Nope they had completely forgot me and told me I didn't need a birthday anymore when I had to tell them it was my birthday!

26:31 my brother in law is exactly like this. He puts his mom above everyone. We live 5 hours away from my sister and brother in law and whenever we go up to visit them he insists on inviting his mother to join in with our activities. He is such a mama’s boy. It drives my mom and I crazy. I made a mistake at their house one time and my brother in law got so mad that the first thing he did was called his mom to complain about it. I was balling because of the severity of my mistake, and all he gave a crap about was telling his mom.

Yes when I was 10 my mom told me and she said it’s looked liked someone ran over my puppy in front of me for days and she has never told my little brother he’s fake and just lets him believe if he wants. And I remember the feelings I had when she told me, now I’m will never tell my kids he’s real but will give them the option to believe if they want!

So last year happened to be my baby brother's first Christmas. He was only 4 months old, but I was 14 at the time. I went to a friend's Christmas party. There were 7 other people there, so altogether there were 8. The next day, my friend's mom said that my friend got covid. I, along with 2 other friends tested positive the day before Christmas. I was so mad that out of 8 people, I was one of the 4 to get sick. I cried on my bed because I knew that I had to miss my baby brother's first Christmas. I knew that he wouldn't remember, but I would. I stayed home, and on Christmas morning my parents, grandparents, and aunt's family were all opening presents while I sat on the stairs, in a mask, opening my presents alone. The little bit of extra pain was that my almost 2-year-old cousin (now almost 3) didn't understand why he could show me his presents. By far my worst Christmas.

I have to agree, as someone who has autism you will see almost no reaction from me when I recieve a gift unless I know what it is and when it is supposed to arrive. It's not that I don't like it it's legit because physically there isn't anything I can do! I so agree and wish the stigma around not crying if you got a gift means you dislike it would go away >w< (I am also someone who reacts big when it's something I have been REALLY wanting)

Never had a Christmas horror story. I did spent Christmas alone in another country alone. I was an au pair, and this was 2020. The family I worked for left to visit the grandparents. My ex worked that day for an extra 100 Euros. All I got was a note from the family saying they left. If I plan to go somewhere. Please remember to turn on the alarm. I was alone in an empty house. Felt sad the whole day. My ex told me there was no reason to be sad. In 2021 I was back in my own country. Happy to see my family again. Well we all got covid. Had to spend the day in our rooms.

Man, I worked at a Cracker Barrel for five years, and the amount of shit there was ALL over the bathrooms CONSTANTLY was disturbing. At LEAST once a week there would be shitty underwear clogging a toilet because they tried to flush it. Shitty diapers in the tampon trashcans. Shitty diapers just left on the sink. And shit ALL OVER the floors and walls starting from the entrance to the bathroom to the toilets. It was a nightmare. People just have no courtesy. And people are too embarrassed to ask for help. I swear, if I was shitting myself in public the FIRST thing I would do would be to ask for help. I'm not trying to be covered in my own shit like that.

I was also the youngest of 4 with the oldest being 11 years older than me but no matter how much I was told Santa was real I never believed it. Saying this I was also a very mean kid so, many times I would lock my older brother (2 years older) in the bathroom and tell him Santa wasn't real and then sit there and watch him hysterically crying and laugh at him
