A lot of you asked to see more basic bolt on type of stuff, so here you go. I did not have time to watch this after editing before uploading so hopefully its not all jacked up.

Loved this one.. very informative on what to look for and the diminishing return on added timing/fuel. Looking forward to the next one.

This channel is awesome. Videos are getting noticeably better with each one. Keep on keeping on Joe! Were you monitoring injector end angle on the bottom left of the Holley software? I've got so many questions about injector phasing. I've been dialing my shit in with the standard -90° IEA Holley defaults to. Tried to make a custom table using my cam card specs and it ran like absolute garbage after. Did some research and have set up what I think is a decent table but would love to talk to someone with more insight on this setting.

Having the dyno sure makes the process simpler. trying to drive, datalog, and revise by myself sucks!

Joe, what causes rpm dip on decel. Mine dips a bit, manual car as well. Great video waiting for your course 👍

Hey Joe - when you are shaping the fuel table and you highlight the blocks of cells could you go a little slower and explain exactly what change you are making and why - you do it way too fast for us to be able to see what you actually did. And can you tell us what your strategy is for setting up the target AFR table? at least for n/a...or is that part of your secret sauce..lol...Thanks!

In my experience AFR tables in NA at least, are pretty forgiving and wide sometimes with little effect on power when changed as well (Timing for one is a factor for idle AFR IMO) Only a few factors determine a good base AFR table IMO.. Only time I "go all out" on an AFR table is if fuel economy is desired, poor idle characteristics, or long WOT is being used. What I like about holley vs Fitech for example is that Fitech users instantly jump to enrichment instead of VE table corrections. VE table on Fitech is not as simple as holley. Joe is right, don't touch anything until your fuel table is good... I'M NOT AN EXPERT, Joe is though. A damn good one too. Where's your training "boot camp" Joe???

The changes and reasons for changes will be different every time, at least a little bit. It would be confusing and would take many additional hours to explain every single thing.

Fors a low or weak vacume cause a problem? Big cam = small vacuum

how close do you get your fuel table in? if closed loop is only compensating maximum 2-4% throughout is that good enough or does it need to be bang on?

Also joe I have a stumble on wot at first, & just cruizen when I switch gears & press throttle it has little stumble, but if i squeeze into it gently it’s fine, any ideas, I’ve played with exel enrichment with not much changes but I also don’t swing huge changes, help?

Usually either in the main fuel table or the accel enrichment or a combo of both

You don’t have to convert it you just multiply by the percent. I have an entire video on how to do it in my course. www.tunethetrilogy.com

New to this. How do you set the rpm at a set point and then go from no throttle to wot? And it stay at said rpm.

That is a function of the dyno. It’s called steady state control

@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest Thank you. I was thinking that would be a nice feature to be able to access. And be able to work those cells without the engine running to the moon to try to dial in. Maybe a dumb question if I was to set the rev limiter to 2500 or other set limit would it mimic that function? No access to a dyno. Thanks you for your time, and the content you're making.

@@stephenmee9873 no it would not. Unfortunately need a dyno with steady state control to do that. It’s an amazing feature. I use it every day

Since it idles at 60 Kpa wouldn’t you want to rescale the axis?

You could but the table is already 34,000 times larger than it needs to be so i don’t mind hacking some of it off.

What’s a good starting point on a scale if my car idles at 78 kpa, right now I scaled it at 60kpa to 102, first time tuner, put willing to learn, thanks so much for videos, was wondering where u went, glad ur feeling better!

@@rodneygodin7773 aftermarket cam? I’d try and pick up some manifold vacuum by experimenting with a few more degrees timing at idle to see if your Kpa comes down to say 55 or less.
