Land sakes I love you two. Am in a motorized wheelchair and I garden, take care of my chickens and ducks, butcher the poultry and chop kindling. I go all over from the big garden to my greenhouse and thank the good Lord every day for his blessings. Im an old woman who likes to cook and have legal custody of 2 grandsons 7 and 12. The got chores sloppin the hogs and mowing. My question is have you all ever grown the scarlet runner beans? The hummingbirds just love the orange flowers. Sending hugs and kisses to you two. God bless you and thank you for your videos. Maw on the mountain Mingo county West Virginia home of Hatfield's and McCoy's.

I just LOVE the super-duper seed dropper! Genius! I remember when you showed us how to make one! Whoa! When you brought the first basket of beans to the wash tub, I though, wow - a ton of beans! Then you brought a second basket full of beans! Talk about a massive harvest!!! You could've fed your whole town twice and still have plenty to put to last all year! What a beautiful meal Nancy made! How satisfying it must be to know that you grew all that yourselves. Nothing could taste better! Thanks so much for sharing all of this with us. You are so gracious and generous! Hug for Bing Bing!

If you take 4" x 4" welded wire fencing 3 squares wide and place it on stakes 12" tall horizontally down the whole row, the beans will grow up through the 4 inch holes. It will support the plants in wind and rain and keep the beans off the ground all season long.
@DebRoo117 ай бұрын
I also think a little trellis makes the plants really grow taller and produce more in my experience. Its like once they grab they trellis they just shoot right up! I have rolly polly,slug and other pest issues so getting them off the ground helps a lot

I usually plant Rattlesnake beans on a 20 foot arbor made from t posts and five 4×12 cattle panels attached about a foot above the ground. This gives it more height. I canned 134 quarts of beans in a small space . No tilling after the initial time and putting commercial landscape fabric down. 😊

Yes, similar variegation. The Rattlesnake has a darker green pod. The Dragon Tongue has a cream colored pod. The Dragons are bush beans, the Rattlesnakes are pole beans. Both are excellent beans for the supper table ❤️
