When I was a teenager I worked at an ice retail dock that also sold watermelons. The varieties that were sold were black diamond, Charleston grey, and a few seedless. They were trucked from the Rio Grande Valley to north central Texas. A truck would pull up and off to sell watermelons and the manager would agree and buy a hundred or so. Then we started unloading them with a chain of men pitching them from the truck to the ice dock and into the storage room. Strangely, we always dropped the last one and had to eat it to prevent waste.

I found your channel last night and watched several of your videos, and today we (me and my husband) went to Home Depot and bought everything you were using and 5 gallon buckets to try your potato growing recommendation...so I came back home and am doing to seeding, planting, etc for the greenhouse...and I watched this video bc I found these Rattlesnake Watermelon seeds at HD...I came to sit down in front of my computer to choose another video of yours since this one ended and there was the scripture you shared at the end of this video. Psalms 91: 9-10...I am doing all this planting, growing and learning to take care of my family bc I can see the writing on the wall. I've been talking with God a lot lately and I have an issue with handing him my worries and letting him handle them....I am a worrier...lol. God used your channel to talk to me today. I'd never heard that scripture before and it was the exact word I needed today as I am panic planting and stocking up and canning, etc etc etc....I felt a calm come over me when I read that. Thank you both so much! God Bless you both. ~Kelly

I like your format of the videos. I like watching videos the way you format your videos. You are methodical in your explanation and diagrams, and you show all of the steps and progress in the same video. I know how much work you put into producing the channel, but I appreciate your channel. It's so easy for someone to show how to plant something, but you have to wait weeks for an update, if they even do one at all. I am the type of person that needs to know 10 steps ahead of me when I take on a project. I tell you when you finally plow this field after the watermelons are done, you will have a very fertile land garden between the Black Kow and fish heads. Your next crop of whatever you plant will be very happy. Thank you again.

It’s my understanding that any seeded variety watermelon can act as pollinator for a non-seeded variety. So your Georgia Rattlesnake could have acted as your pollinator as long as there was one for every 3 unseeded watermelon plant.
@HollisNancysHomestead3 жыл бұрын
This is true but we had the Rattlesnakes separate from the triploids so we added the pollinator. We also wanted to emphasize that a pollinator was needed for the triploids just in case some folks are only wanting to grow seedless melons ❤️
