hollow pull ups are my favourite type, but this showed me that I have been doing them wrong the whole time. I wasn't focusing on downward rotation, but this makes so much more sense and when I tried it, it even felt more like the front lever (I'm working on the tuck front lever)

I think I've been doing it wrong the whole time! I have been doing the hollow body bit, but pulling and my arms end up like yours in the arched pull up. Thin makes so much more sense

I need to get better at the shoulder position because mine end up hunched and so I can't get my head over the bar at all. By the way I signed up to your pull up program and it has already helped me a lot 😝

Hey bro I got a question. Are hollow pull ups easier on the shoulder joint? I have a funky right shoulder and I think hollow feels more comfortable but I could be wrong

Interesting question and it depends to be honest. Hollow pull ups hit the delts a little less than arched, but I'd argue that because the lats are less involved in hollow body pull ups, more force needs to be provided by muscles in and around the shoulder. All this being said, I always suggest seeing a physio though as where you're experiencing pain, may not be exactly where the issue is. Stay safe 👊🏿
