The amount of meme mileage that team cherry has managed to get out of this bumbling, self-proclaimed "knight" of no renown is honestly impressive. Few could have imagined when they saw what they believed to a poor follow bug to chewed on by that big vengefully that he would be such a prominent reoccurring character who not only steal your fangirl, but gets multiple statues, a fanfiction, inspire a dream so powerful it manifests as one of the most annoying bosses in the game, cementing it as one of the final and hardests challenges to beat to get the game's end-game ending (Markoth+GPZ in the P5), a hidden endless mode, and his own menu style.

Right? Team Cherry loves Zote so- Oh my god I just realized why we get so much of this nonsense with Zote! A campaign as Zote was a stretch goal for the Kickstarter and the Kickstarter didn't make it. Zote was going to be the 3rd playable character (after Hornet) but we didn't get to that goal and now Team Cherry is punishing us! 😂

I remember the first time I stumbled upon this wonderful mode. I knew about the secret to get to it but I didn't actually see what it was. So when I went and saw the Zote rematch I thought "Oh lol, just a way to rematch Zote". And then the actual ordeal happened. I was literally crying from laughing so hard at all the weird crap going on. Probably my most positive experience of Godmaster tbh. One thing I wish they did was, if you got to a stupidly high number of Zotes killed (like a hundred), it would start throwing nerfed Grey Prince Zotes at you. Like, all they could do was Zote's basic attacks (running with the nail out and jumping around).

The Randomness decreased drastically after watching this, great guide! My first "victory" was a "You Hit Me, I Hit You Back" strategy. Quick Focus, Stalwart Shell, Shape of Unn, Sporeshroom, Grubsong and Thorns of Agony. Being able to Heal during i-frames is amazing.

I get my best numbers on this with grubsong+weavers+springmaster (the passive extra soul from the weaverlings helps a lot when you have a high number of zotes) hiveblood (there are plenty of situations where you can't heal safely without killing two or more specific zotelings and hope that a different one spawns, so it's the only way to get heals in between) and quick focus. Then again, this is for going beyond 100. In any case, past a certain point Zotes will start dying by themselves, so collecting soul and using it to heal is the most important thing.

Here's a tip. Use a full (and I mean FULL) snail build. All charm interactions make it a ton easier. Aoe damage field 4 damage guards and fast snail. Bauld lasted me up to 50 zote kills so even with only 4 charges smart healing keeps you alive

Also heavies are the easiest to heal on. Heal when there's 2 of them. They are random

Something kinda odd happened to me when doing the Eternal Ordeal -- I managed to kill a Head of Zote as it was escaping the screen, but it didn't actually die. The result was that every time I hit it, it would add to my kill counter. I went from around 30 kills to over 100 in no time flat, with little effort. Utterly bizarre, but I'm certainly not complaining, and if you can replicate it, it can make the process a lot easier. For reference, I'm playing the GOG version on the latest patch.

On a serious note I actually want to know how there are so many versions of him and some of them explode and shoot out infection but Zoe doesn't dream so he's can't be infected that's how the infection spreads so how does he'd create this many and heck even than the arena the godseeker isn't even probably told rubbing his face that no one wants to watch his damn fight but yeah also I bet if he knew what you know the knight truly is he would cut facade also why does he look like the knight he does stay in one of his laws that he should leave the nest so maybe he's a highly defected vessel or maybe he could be a maggot or something related to nosk since maybe nosk is a creature and animal that can breed and he just decides to take the form of a vessel since maybe he was around when the vessel stuff happened I'm seriously can't believe I'm actually feel rising on the dumbest character ever also if you see this I hope you play the vocalized mod because his voice is actually kind of cool but that's my theory if you have any suggestions of what I should change please but seriously I'm not excited to have to fight this thing and yes he is he think he is not

There's the possibility that the Godseeker sensed Zote (those in the Hall of Gods don't have to dream to be there) and that is some of the versions Zote sees of himself and since he's been around all of Hallownest, he's seen bugs that shoot infection.

You can honestly play Hollow Knight however you'd like. Going through with just the Old Nail is a challenging way to play but it can be done. 🙂

That is true; some bosses' health scales with our Nail level (I think every single Dream Warrior and Boss) but that scaling goes away in Godhome. Bosses have set health in there. :/

21:25 actually I don't ask I've used it in here and it's great. All you need is shape of un to go along with it. 21:30 only shape of unn is needed to make it useful get quick focus outta here. Also alternatively you could go full onto that build and add grub song plus elegy for the infinite heal combo.

Today I got to 351 Zotes, but when I watched it back, I saw that from a certain point on only 1 ZoM continued to appear instead of 2. Would you count that as a PB or not? :s

It's called Godmaster mode, you can only access Godhome while in Godmaster mode, without playing the rest of the game

Hmm. I think there is a good argument for that because if we ignore anything in the Dream/Fanfic/Nightmare realms, there are only a couple creatures that deal double damage: Traitor Lord (intentionally became Infected), The Hollow Knight's Flame Pillars attack (arguably an Infection based attack), and Oomas (also potentially pure Infection). But the theory gets shaky with Broken Vessel because they are filled with Lightseeds, pure Infection creatures. But the idea is still real interesting. 🙂
