Hollow Knight: Godmaster - Pantheon of the Sage (All Bindings)

Completing the third pantheon with all bindings active. Due to my main save glitching and having Zote dead I needed to do this in Godseeker mode to have Grey Prince Zote in the pantheon roster. I had completed this some time ago but my previous clear was not good. This one is significantly better but there's still some hiccups from GPZ onward. I particularly like entering Sly phase 2 with full health and nearly dying.
I've tried Pantheon of the Knight a few times and once I get more practice on Markoth and Pure Vessel I think I can complete it.

@@BooglousBangle Cyclone Slash is your friend there. Amazingly, the Collector isn't even that challenging for me anymore! Just wait until the minions fall, then hit them and get a few hits in at the Collector while you're at it. Also Abyss Shriek can be useful to kill him faster.

I actually can't manage this. Zote + Collector is torture when you can't oneshot their minions and healing is fairly random. The only time I got through both I was so messed up that I died to Sly, who I can do radiant fairly consistently. It's so painfully difficult.

I know what you mean. I had plenty times where I'd beat Collector and go into God Tamer with 1 HP. Or make mistakes with Galien (not often) and go into GPZ in less than full health (which usually didn't end well). Plus GPZ is pretty rough with all bindings. It's a much harder pantheon to do with all bindings. Just keep at it and you will eventually get it! Good luck!

I must say, Zote is my favorite fight of the game. Because the game teases you with that original 1-10 stages, I did it, it took me hours of trying, and now I know his moves so perfectly, it's super rewarding when you need to defeat him in other ways, like with all bindings or radiant. And his theme is just fantastic. Hate it that in the pantheons you get that generic pantheon fight theme(s). Don't be too angry with me😃

I’m struggling with the third pantheon with all bindings. I’ve done the first two with full bindings and have beat every boss except markoth and radiance on radiant difficulty but I still can’t seem to get past the collector. I know the scream skip but I still can’t get past his last “phase” any advice? It seems almost impossible without being able to one shot his minions and having only 4 health.

The adds shouldn't be too problematic in P3 as they're the weaker version. I think it's two hits to kill them with all bindings but you generally want to try and conserve soul to shade soul all the adds if you get a bad combo. If you can build soul off one add that helps (you can't shade soul every time but can generally keep up). Try to stay in the corners to keep it all on one side. Wall jump and pogo fliers to reach the other end (just be high enough to not jump into Collector). Also if you're comfortable with nail arts great slash or cyclone slash should take out an add in one blow. Good luck!

Every single time I can defeat Hive Knight and Elder Hu consistently but I've never beaten The Collector just because of the extra enemies and how you have to double hit them! Cyclone slash never really seems to work because the enemies spawn further away and you only have enough soul for one attack... Damn! I'll be relieved once I get past him

Great slash can help a bit if you charge it as jars fall to kill one immediately. Once multiple jars drop your best bet is to save soul for when you need to clear a difficult wave of enemies with shade soul. Good luck!

Hey, I know this video is kind old but man... You're a monster. I've been doing the pantheons for a few weeks now, few tries by few tries every few days, but it's sooooo long ! I'm currently at the sage, I've done all bindings except the no charm one, and I'm totally stuck. I keep messing either (and mostly) god tamer, he pisses me so f*in much, or hornet.. I feel so bad ha ha I'm at 100h played and feel like I'm not improving. But I feel your video might help me, you're using soul dive much more than I am so maybe I'll try it !

The best general advice is know what the roster of bosses are and know what ones give you the most trouble. Practice them individually (it's a shame the Hall of Gods doesn't have an "all-bindings" practice mode for individual bosses) until you're confident you can beat them without too much trouble. You only have enough soul for one spell or one heal, so if you're at 2-3 health you might need to look for an opportunity to heal (a stagger or a boss move that leaves them occupied) rather than use spells. But if you can use spells, the fight will go much quicker. Generally descending dark is great for the damage and s. If you stagger a boss and need soul, use the dream nail (if you do this immediately) and your soul bar will be filled, which might allow for a heal depending on the boss or follow it with a shade soul or descending dark. I cannot do this Pantheon with all bindings. I just can't. At least not right now. I attempted it 20 times in a row--only one of them made it past The Collector, and then God Tamer killed me. Far too many of them ended on Hive Knight. Even remembering my #1 personal rules--stay calm and be patient--I just can't do this. One of the worst things about this? I KNOW that if I could just make it past God Tamer, I would probably be fine. I have no idea how I could possibly die to Grimm, and there's a bench right after him, where I would get five Lifeblood masks since I've done all bindings individually (except for the Pantheon of Hallownest of course). TL;DR - The Collector is death incarnate

The best advice with Collector is try to get comfortable with using nail arts as much as possible to kill him faster. I forget if you one shot or two shot the adds in P3, but if it's two shot you can also great slash an add as they spawn. Save your soul for when you have 2-3 enemies spawning at once to clear things away with shade soul. Collector is very annoying, but keep at it and you'll eventually get it. If it's giving you a lot of trouble take a break and you might find things going better when you come back. Best of luck!

One other thing that can speed things up early in the fight: Using abyss shriek when Collector jumps over you works really well for damage. This is best when only one add is falling. Dream nail Collector during a stagger (assuming no adds are up) to gain full soul too.

Thanks for the tips! I had already been doing the Abyss Shriek and Dream Nail, but I never bothered with Nail Arts. I struggle with the adds most, since it does take two hits to deal with the Aspids and Baldurs. One of the biggest issues I had was with the Aspids specifically--occasionally they would shoot the instant the jar broke, before I had any time to react. It's been a few hours, so I might give it a few more attempts soon!

Pretty much to do Godhome stuff. There's some unique dialogue in it that suggests it's post-Pantheon of Hallownest. It also have all statues except Absolute Radiance unlocked, which can be handy to practice Pure Vessel or try Sisters of Battle.

Grey prince Zote AND Collector make this the hardest pantheon (out of the main 4) for me. Thanks to cyclone slash Collector isnt completly awful, (assuming he doesnt spawn two aspids on the opposige sides of the arena) but Zote just has so much health...it takes forever and you are bound to make mistakes. At least lost kin lets you one shot his infected balloons! Seriously, no wonder Grey Prince Zote is optional.

After putting it off for a while, Finally completed P3AB. Collector and Zote were suprisingly clean, while Hornet and Sly were snoozefest. I'm dreading P4AB and P5AB, do you have any specific tips, also in general how much practice should I be doing if I want to do P5AB?

Congrats on P3AB! It's really just practice the bosses that give you trouble until you feel confident enough to try. Getting comfortable with nail arts helps a lot (although I didn't use them as much as I should have).

I found a very easy way to beat Collector on 3rd Pantheon all bindings, I use nail-slash at the beginning, when only one monster spawns, and cyclone-slash when more monsters spawn at a time, i prefer being on the middle of the arena or near the spawn point of the first monster per wave while doing this. Most of the times it leaves no monster or one monster, so it's easier to handle. Spam these and spam hit collector after you clear the monsters and you should be ok.

@@pettoniustonius4631 thanks. I actually found this out and now collector is a no issue. I always use cyclone slash and it's great for all stages of the fight. Gailen always drains all my blue masks plus some, so I get to zote with like two masks. Zote himself I think I knoe how to get, I think Gailen is my problem. I got to hornet like.. twice. With one mask. and lost. Sly is still laughing at me from the top.

Also never dash to reach galien, always keep it for the scthe and the small ones. For zote, do you have any idea how to beat him that doesnt show up in this video? Im really stuck

@@pettoniustonius4631 not dashing to galien is new. I'll try that. For zote- the key thing is your soul. Never use a spell randomly. Keep your soul full for the following- 1. Destroying zotelings(if you have soul do not try to nail them.Just fry them. They are the threat here). 2. Using descending dark when zote falls from the sky upon you. Great damage. But make sure you nail him 3 times right after, so you have full soul right away. It is almost always possible(sometimes not in a row). 3. Destroying expolizotes if they leave you no place to dodge zote's moves. Except that, nail him all the time. He has a ton of health but if you are lucky he will shaow leap a lot so you can take advantage of that with descending dark.

Ahhhhhhh Grey Prince Zote is fucking bullshit. He ends all my attempts at fully bound PotS and you can't train against his statue very effectively because his minions need two hits to die. Hats off to you.

Gotcha. Have you been able to beat Grey Prince Zote in the Hall of Gods? You might want to try beating him consistently there first. Also, spells help a lot during the fight, especially descending dark. You can pull one off when he falls from the ceiling or ends his flailing attack. Abyss Shriek timed properly can kill all the adds as they come out (or Shade Soul can do the job). You should be able to 1-shot them with the nail though. Killing the adds pronto helps keep things from getting out of hand. You can get 1-2 masks of healing during the staggers, or if you use Dreamwielder with the dream nail you can get a large amount of soul (and use descending dark before he recovers). Grey Prince Zote is the pretty finicky so it takes a good bit of practice to get used to him. If you don't save him in Greenpath and he dies he doesn't show up in the pantheons at all, but replaying purely for that is probably not too viable.

God tamer is the most biggest bullshit I had to face in this game. I defeated Grimm 3 times already and I keep getting fcked by God tamer. Idk why. Maybe the fact that I have a little shiet in the middle of the arena and also a fcking huge ball after me is too much. The funny thing is that I am probably the only one that things G.T is harder than Grimm. It just feels like a mess. Whenever I have to face rolling bosses I fcking give up.

What does the Nail bind do? Does it lock off Nail Arts?

It reduces nail damage. I believe it sets it to nail2 damage (13 damage), unless you have a weaker nail in which case it's a % reduction. Not sure how much. Nail arts still work and are actually unaffected by the binding so nail arts are pretty powerful with all bindings.

are there any tips for sly? i know that i have to git gut but im already gut, the fight is unfair you are forced to use long nail or mark of pride for phase 2 or you will get hit (like you did on the video) is there a good tip for beating sly with no charms? you look like a good player

Nail arts like great slash or dash slash hit Sly easily in P2 when he stops his spin. Shade soul is another option (much more limited with bindings though). You CAN hit Sly without range charms if it comes to it.

@@CrankyTemplar yes the ranged attack i dont kow how to dodge it , i dodge through with shade cloak but it keeps getting me. What do you think is the best way to avoid it?

Wait until you see the daggers coming then shade dash as if you dash too early you'll be hit by them. Alternatively, you could use descending dark for the s (but that's a less ideal solution). And you can jump the gaps but that takes some good reaction to do consistently.

Charmset? Because I've used tons of different sets and still can't beat pantheon of the sage with any bindings.

This is all bindings, which means no charms. Otherwise, on normal, it depends on your fight style (nail, spell or nail arts) just build charms around that. Quick focus, shaman or strength are generally very useful.

Why the fuck is the godtamer fight so hard? I died more to him than the first two pantheons combine. I did him second try in Colosseum of Fools, is the fight easier there or what?!! Without any bindings, I mean.
