Hollow Knight is honestly kinda trash. I didn't expect much from a 2-Dimensional game (imagine playing a 2-D game in 2023, almost 2024, yikes!). But, this game is boring and repetitive as all get-out. Just spam the nail, jump attack to pogo, run away, rinse and repeat, do this for 20-30 hours, and congrats, you beat the game. It's lowkey way easier than it should be, and anybody complaining the game is too hard... you're not a real gamer like me. You cannot do what I do, so don't try to be like me. I can see how it can get annoying if people are CONSTANTLY harrassing you about it and you think it's overated, but the whole 2D side-scroller argument sucks, because that's how MOST 2D games work, and that fact that in your comment(Hearting your own comment geez how much self-esteem do you need) you're saying that "ALL 2D GAMES ARE BAD" is just a bad argument, because I can just go ahead and say "All 3D games are bad" and the argument is the same. 2D and 3D aren't what define a game, the problem is, you're putting you're argument in objective terms, and I can tell, it's personal preference and bad experience with fans of the game. I'm not asking you to change you're mind or anything but more people have enjoyed this game, than have NOT enjoyed it. Check the Steam reviews for crying out loud. I and many others love this game, if you don't like it then consider ignoring it instead of pushing people away from something they may enjoy. I personally liked the music, the game was fun all the way through, and the story was decent(It was hard to follow to some degree though). With all that said, go play something you enjoy and ignore the game. Just go watch a critique of the game since those aren't supposed to include personal bias. And have a good day.

Haha still funny! I like metroidvanias, I have tried Hollow Knight but found it bland in the beginning. I know, it tries to have a unified aesthetics with few colors and these boring caves and there is no map, so I didn't feel like I need to go through it. I could try again. The thing that sold it was this art aesthetic I think and the simple gameplay. That also makes me want to check Ori, I never even played it, but if it's better, hmm.. I look for good metroidvanias that will attract. Some of the most talked ones happen to get me bored when I start playing, I don't know why. Some of the lesser ones people say are mediocre sometimes attract me more, they miss things, they are not very polished, but there is something special in them that attracts me.

I've never heard of you before, but I must say! This video is absolutely stellar! You should review Cuphead next! However, I have a few nitpicks You sound like the nerd emoji would sound like, just when you speak you also exhale so much air that it tears branches off of trees. I am at the 3:26 mark and I have to say, the only criticism of the game game itself, nearly halfway through the video, is that it's a 2D Platformer, a genre which you find boring and repetitive, despite not actually explaining what about the game is boring and repetitive. The majority of this video so far has been you ranting about how you get thousands of views, how you are "The King" and how people like myself are cowards because we don't go on your livestreams to talk to you. Maybe that's because those people don't like you? I looked at your channel, and you have a video stating that you are the king of KZbin as the thumbnail flaunts that you have 2.9 million views. I can find so many singular videos made by just one person that have more views than your entire channel has. I came here looking for criticism about a game I enjoy, and instead got a very angry man yelling into his microphone to no one about how they are cowards and stupid. I'm going to continue watching this video, and I will update my comment along the way. Oh yes, I forgot to mention, this all boils down to you having an ego more inflated than the Venezuelan Bolivar and anger issues. I just reached the 4:04 mark, and all you've said is how you are above everyone else in anyway and that you demand others obey you while also stating that you just don't enjoy games anymore. It's simple as that. You simply do not enjoy making this content or playing any games. Whether that be, "Triple A, shooters, racing games, RPG's, indie games, sports, EVERYTHING!" Just as you said. And then you moaned into the microphone which was real weird, but whatever, your content, man. Now at 4:45, you sure do sound like you're turning red. Blood flushing your face as you scream into the void that is KZbin. No one cares. No one's listening to you. No one cares about what you have to say because it's just the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again about how we're coward and you are the supreme. 5:00 what soldiers? Also, I just want to say that Hollow isn't even a side scroller, it's a free roam 2D platformer. Like a side scroller, it's 2D and there's platforming, but unlike a side scroller, there's no side scrolling, there's no absolute set path to take, and you can move upwards and downwards in almost every room, unlike a side scroller which binds your camera to one position and forces you to go right, no back tracking, whereas in Hollow Knight backtracking is necessary to beat the game. 5:10 Wow, you block people when they disagree with you in your comments? If you hate comments so much, why do you even have them on in the first place? You know you're going to get these types of responses, and you hate that, don't you? You're an idiot. You can literally disable these comments. Blocking people just makes you petty. It makes you look like a fool. Like you can't handle any sort of disagreement that you and someone else has. You're the type of person to say that mechanical pencils are objectively worse than number 2 pencils and if anyone disagrees with you then you're going to gouge their eyes out, because that's basically what you're saying with these "calls to war" against people who are disagreeing with you. You are so petty that you make me want to cry of laughter. 5:25 FINALLY SOME ACTUALLY CRITICISM. Sorry, never mind, false alarm. Hollow Knight and Ori have four things in common and they are the fact that they are platformers, they don't have side scrolling, they're both on several platforms, and they're both 2D. How is that a rip off? That's like saying that Sonic 3 is a rip off of Super Mario World. They're the same genre, they have a similar gameplay style, they're iconic games that aren't the first in their series', and they're both 32 bit. Clearly a ripoff. Yeah. No! Sonic 3 and Mario World are completely different games, much like Ori and Hollow Knight are completely different games. Both are great games and are very fun to many people. Ori's gameplay and design is nothing like Hollow Knight's. You can search up videos of the two on this very website and put them side by side and you will see no resemblance. In fact, I just did, Ori is much more linear, open, and face paced, making exploration an easy thing, but also making you stay on track with the level, while Hollow Knight is a bit slower, having you go all over the map and find new rooms, and secrets to aid you along the way. Not to mention, combat is completely different. In Ori, you aim the orb and lunge at it and enemies to attack, while in Hollow Knight you hold the directional button a certain direction and press the attack or ability button. Both are very different in gameplay, design, level design, how you play, and combat. 5:53 team sizes. The reason why Ori looks so much better and plays in a more advanced is because the team that worked on Ori was about 5 to 7 times larger than the team that worked on Hollow Knight. Don't get me wrong, the team behind Ori was small as well, only 15-22 people worked on that game and it came out phenomenal. 3 people worked on Hollow Knight. Why do you think Ori looks better and is more advanced in playstyle? It's because 3 people worked on Hollow Knight. Also, you sound like a child whining to their mom about why they can't get a toy that they want. 6:23 No it is not? I want you to list indie games that have the same art style as Hollow Knight, please. With all of the glows, detailed backdrops, and similar character design features, and please refrain from listing games that came out after Hollow Knight. 6:25 I'M SORRY, WHAT?! HAHAHAHA! No WAY you just said that all Indie Game's have the same Indie Game art style and then go on to say that 2D ANIMATION IS THE ART STYLE YOU MEAN. Well, you heard it here folks, Hollow Knight's just reusing the same animation as Sonic Advanced on the Game Boy Advanced and those 1920's Disney Cartoons! Same art style! It's all 2D Animation. Do you understand how STUPID you sound? I know you didn't mention Sonic Advanced or 1920's Disney Cartoons, but you might as well have as ell as any other type of 2D animation. Bro, you know Berserk? That one thing with the 2D animation? Ugh, just like every Indie Videogame, man! It's all the same art style! That is basically what you said. 6:44 You want a challenge in Hollow Knight? Try beating the Path of Pain. Then try beating the Path of Pain without taking any damage. Then try beating the Path of Pain on Silver Soul (hardcore mode). And then lastly try beating the Path of Pain on Silver Soul without taking any damage. Then try fighting the Radiance. Know what, I'll go look at your stream. Alright. I have to say I'm really impressed, you beat Hornet first try. Good job. Sorry I misjudged you. It was wrong of me to assume that. However, you still only beat like, like not even half of the game. I'd still like to see you beat it. Yet still, at the end of the video, your only complaints were that it was too easy, despite even getting to the halfway point of the game, that it's a 2D platformer, which isn't a bad thing and many 2D Platformers are fun if you actually pay attention to it rather than just scream at your chat for respect when you beat an early game boss first try, that it has 2D animation, which also isn't a bad thing and isn't just bound to just video games, and that it isn't as good as Ori in quality even though it was made years after, despite the games not being similar in very many ways as well as Ori having a much larger dev team than Hollow Knight did. So yeah. You're decent at games, but you suck at actually enjoying an reviewing them. You're also a narcissist with an ego.
