I think that's because the color palet of this game isn't limited to keeping the cooler tones for the environement and the warm bright colors for the danger of the infection. So they have a lot more freedom to create more colorful areas. PLUS HORNET. HORNET

Christ the music in these games. Simply phenomenal. It’s frustrating watching these videos. This and Ori. Every time I see these trailers my desire for a new Metroid like these games burns inside me. Yet Nintendo lazily tossed out Samus Returns, which is amateur hour compared to Team Cherry and Moon Studio’s efforts. Samus Returns is a game that looks 15 years dated, and took forever to arrive. Silksong is probably being created by five people (if that), and it puts Nintendo to absolute shame. Will we ever see a new 2D Metroid that actually has some love and passion put into it ever again? Nintendo has been bested by the likes of Ori and the Blind Forest (and soon Will of the Wisps), Hollow Knight, and now Silksong. Ironic that Nintendo was the one who inspired those who then took the crown from them by miles. Perhaps one day Nintendo will finally get off their arrogant, complacent and unambitious asses to reclaim it.

Possibly wrong though Hornet is the daughter of Herra, the Beast. Who was a Weaver And it is very likely that the Weavers originated from (and went back to, after Herra agreed to sleep/dream) Pharloom. Hornet is a very special case, she isn't just a daughter protector of hallownest, her bloodline comes from outside Hallownest, so she might very well be able to forego the "Higher beings, these words are for you alone. These blasted plains stretch never-ending. There is no world beyond. Those foolish enough to traverse this void must pay the toll and relinquish the precious mind this kingdom grants." Her mind was technically NOT granted entirely by this kingdom. As opposed to the Knight, who is one third White Lady, one third Pale King, and one third Void (to simplify), and left the boundaries of the kingdom to have literally "no mind to think" (as his mind was granted by Hallownest, in a way.) As such, the part of her that comes from Herra, the part of her that is a Weaver, might very much allow her to keep her memories

YES! I can't wait for this to come out for the switch. I love Hollow Knight and it's world, characters and story. And, Hornet as the main character this time! Take my money! ...when I eventually get money... (pst!) Imagine if Hornet was the next DLC fighter for Smash as a way to promote this game and hollow knight? I know it's a bit of a stretch but, She'll fit right in the roster and would have an expansive move-set.
