Hollywood Wants To Ban Critical Drinker & Youtube Critics

Hollywood has continued to fail time and time again over the last couple of years, and many Hollywood studios like Disney, Marvel and media outlets have blamed "toxic" fans for these failures, however now it's shifting and Hollywood seems to be attacking youtube critics like The Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic and others like Disparu. It seems they now see this as an easy scapegoat and an easy way to blame their failures, rather than take accountability for their failures, when it comes to Marvel and the MCU as well as other studios like Disney.

To be fair, he has credibility and is entertaining to watch. While most movies nowadays have a track record of being consistently awful. So consumers are sick of being played for chumps by studios that hate them. If Drinker or somebody else has a boring video, easier to go to the next versus theaters not letting you jump within a time slot to a better movie (if there is one)

I lost count 'cause sooooooo many people recommended this shit to me, so I checked and didn't need more than a few episodes to surmise I'd rather not waste my time on this crap. But people get praising it, like here we have some coolest shit ever, however wacthing more episodes here and there left me still unimpressed. Then there was a Battle, great, finally something worth watching for. Wrong: three episodes in a row fearing, preparing, more debauchery, repugnant characters talking shit behind each others back, all the usual, and then....let's skip the battle: organize our troops for slaughter right outside the walls and send the mobile ones as sacrificial lambs for the advancing army and watch from afar how they disappear in the night, taken out one by one. This plan was devised by a koala bear. And then that unimpressive brat stabs in to save the day. Or night to be exact, but it's so hard to care, when everything is just so foolish and silly. All high stakes and foreboding doom mostly boring Big talk for show and mirros to justify magnificent production costs, costumes and settings. Total waste of decent actors.

It's been a thing with entertainment in general. Not just Hollywood. Gaming had it too where around 2008 as older millennials started seeking jobs within entertainment and journalistic industries as a means of getting their worldview out there for others to digest. By 2012 they were turning games into mild political soapboxes with what they could get away with. A lot of people really don't give GamerGate the credit it deserves, and when they managed to con the public into some farce that it was solely about "Men gamers hated women gamers for wanting to feel included" when in reality, the origins of GamerGate happened because Zoe Quinn was getting very favorable reviews on a lukewarm indie game by journalists she was known to pal around with, and in some cases sleep with. It was an ethics complaint from gamers over whether we could trust our journalists who were clearly being paid off by companies to say games like Dragon Age 2 were the second coming when they were a steaming pile of shit but the company wrote a check with an extra 0 that day. Now in 2024 they don't make any effort to hide it. A far cry from back 6 years ago when Blizzard was trying to come up with 50 different excuses why in Battle For Azeroth, all of the main characters driving the story were females and any males were relegated to submissive cuck status. Now they openly tell their users if they don't like the wokeness to quit the game and berate them before privating their own account when they realize more people are against their shit than they think. It's been going on in Hollywood for far longer, but it's the same fucking thing. Except movies affect more people than games, so it took a lot longer for the veil to be pulled.

Been happening with gaming and journalism far longer than this. Never forget that KZbin had to tweak its algorithm to effectively lower independent content that built the site in favor of the Mainstream Media news titans who a couple decades prior said the internet was a dumb fad and would never go anywhere. Then made hit piece after hit piece showing the most disturbing or controversial videos they could find and telling parents to not let their kids use the site, as well as suggesting legislation to punish companies for what gets uploaded on their sites if they don't police it correctly. I'm about 95% sure most of the hate mob around Elon buying Twitter can be traced back to some journalist with an ego mad they weren't going to get special treatment anymore and instead had to obey the same rules as everyone else. CNN straight up doxxed a KID, went to his house and then bragged on a broadcast the same day they found the kid and told him they'd "be forced to use his personal details" if he didn't stop posting "Hateful memes"... said meme was some WWE clip where Trump attacks some dude with the CNN logo over his head. Legally to a normal person, that's considered Blackmail and in pretty much all states classified as a felony. Not only did CNN skate on this despite admitting to blackmail on air, people actually praised them for it and thought CNN was fighting tyranny. Oh to fight tyranny by silencing your opposition... I say the same thing when I put on a black mask and beat the shit out of people for the cardinal sin of having a different opinion than my own and telling the world I'm fighting fascism so therefore employing fascist means ACROSS THE FUCKING BOARD doesn't make me a fascist.

@poppers7317 Much more that you obviously do. Especially when it comes about lecturing someone about respecting someone's honesty. When you have "Hollywood Elites" talking about censoring criticism of their movies, then they (Hollywood) has a problem. When people go to the movies, they don't want or care to be lectured to. They want to be entertained. That's why people don't want to hear about "inclusion, equity, and/or equality." Because they're being criticized for the lousy product they're (Hollywood) is putting out, that's why they're going after "Critical Drinker" and other KZbin critics. Hollywood (aka "Hollyweird") can't "see the forest for the trees." Not to mention that Hollywood (namely Disney) is losing money hand over fist by the tune of Tens of Millions, if not Hundreds of Millions of Dollars. That's a Business Model that can't be sustained in the Long Term. People likeKevin Fiege, Kathleen Kennedy, Bob Iger, and Leslye Headland should be thrown out of Disney. One of the things that come to mind is this is just another attack on freedom of speech. The studios are looking for anyone to blame for their bad work. They could have hired better to make stories then present them. These actors much of them young do not know any better and most likely had directors that were told not to do their jobs, and some directors were a part of the problem of being activists and not story tellers. I used to be a movie fanatic but now-a-days I can care less. I stopped watching movies in the theaters 20 years ago. I have been to less than a hand full of movies in the theaters since then. It also does not help that seeing a movie in the theater is too expensive. It also does not help that actors and other in that business say and do things that are ignorant and that is even reported by the main stream news, as well as what actors and directors said on social media. The problem is that Hollywood forgot that that in order to made good movies that must tell good stories that make sense. Not throw in politics. Politics is what causes theaters to be empty. Hollywood used to know this. But now-a-days, Hollywood does not seem to care at all. Even before DEI lead movies, they were not doing a good job telling stories of regardless of the type of movie that it was. I hope that these movie reviewers on KZbin that got some type of court letter, will counter sue underneath the whole idea of freedom of speech. That is something that democrats can't handle.

The lady also brags that everything in that show was written a year or 2 ahead of time so she must have been one of his OG fans.

they also didn't really do anything with it either. they just show a mask and tell the audience "thats the bad guy". I'd say its like a child wrote the show, but most children aren't that low iq

The people who are critics are the people who want to like your movies the most, and if a critic talks about how good your movie is, it’s free publicity

If they succeed in banning critics I will absolutely never buy another product from them. Want to destroy your movie studio, prevent independent critics from speaking !

When KZbinrs like The Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic, seemingly can ruin the success of any movie or tv show according to the production companies, it just shows to me, how fickle there products are, and how egotistical the people in the entertainment industry are, that they would rather burn down the world, then admit they failed.

So if they don't want critics. They will stop with the woke bs right? Oh no. Ok then. They can suck it. We will keep talking then. Period.

They don't even realise that 90% of people aren't even on social media and still are mostly influenced by word-of-mouth. And that the majority of people never embraced their ideology in the first place. So not only do they not have the reach they think, they also are unable to see the limited effectivenesss of their propaganda because social media (and its tons of bots) seem like to be in favor of them. They're caught in their own thought prison while everyone just abandoned ship a long time ago. To me, they're nothing more than a weird current-day version of the Truman Show 🍿😆

I really really hate the deflection of "it's not bad, you're just racist" it's ruining movies cause they can get away with putting in no effort with no repercussions

When movie production companies start to sue the critics... it might be because they are producing shit.
@Thomas-fb5tf

Can I sue the Charlie's Angels reboot and blame them for depicting men as weak, brain-dead, and evil? That's the reason I couldn't get a date for 2 years, I suspect. That makes about as much sense as suing a movie critic over....critiquing a movie.

So instead of attacking the audience... they're gonna attack the people the audience trusts and respects enough to sort of name as our representatives. THAT'S NOT SMARTER, PEOPLE!!!!

well they got Rotten Tomatoes to comply, but they can't get individual CCs to comply so they put the screws to them so they can continue to plug the message.

Same here. The fact that guys like them _can't_ be bought brings my butt in the cinema seat; silencing them will make me stay at home. Also I try to convince friends to go with me to watch a movie, so we're talking about more than just one ticket sale per trip. Your choice Hollywood: _The_ _message_ or ticket sales, choose one.
