Cradle of Filth are awesome....They are known for having guest vocalists make an appearance in this case, Liv Kristine. It's kind of hard to categorize their music. They're black metal, symphonic metal, gothic metal...whatever they feel like being, I guess. Try Her Ghost In The Fog for a next listen. No guest vocals, just Cradle. The lyrics are super dark and viscerally poetic.

The whole “Beauty and the Beast” style of vocal harmonies are dope as hell, NGL. Cradle of Filth got a lot of flak for a long time as “Hot Topic-core” for mallgoths, but that’s selling them SO short tbh. The Shakespearean prose in Dani Filth’s lyricism is unparalleled. It’s good to see he’s still around, and as well-spoken and self-aware as ever. Listen to their song “Her Ghost In the Fog” if you haven’t already. I’d love to see you guys break down the lyrics and subject matter. Lots of love.

Cradle of Filth has a catalogue of amazing songs; the cherry on top (in my humble opinion) is the song: "Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids". It's absolutely epic and the main guitar riff is my all time favorite, bar none! Not just of Cradle, but in all music! There's no official music video for it, but that would just distract you from every masterful element of its grotesque beauty!

A quick summation of the name of the song, basically the partner is the drug. Also, regarding the metal scene, I'd say we're pretty accepting generally. We try not to judge because we're used to everyone already judging us. Getting the labels "devil worshipper" devil music, evil, etc. When in reality, we're often more sincere than the people closest to you. And each piece of music feeds a different part of the soul. All that said, we're very hard to actually offend as our music already explored the darker sides of the human mindset.

One of the best bands ever. These guys are one of the original Pioneers of gothic/symphonic black metal. They don't have a ton of official videos, which kind of sucks, but they are still a very deep rabbit hole and have a huge following. Their strength is in Dani's lyricism. It's among the most intelligent out there. Dark and brutal in so many places, and yet so erotic in so many others. Try these Tearing the veil From Grace Her ghost in the fog From the cradle to enslave Bathory Aria Dusk and her embrace Tortured Soul Asylum Even that list just scratches their surface

Finally I'm commenting! Don't let me fool you though I've seen many more than I've commented! This is one is definitely a fav! I love me some Cradle of Filth! I've been a fan of them since way back in the dis-ay. Like around 2000. Back when the internet was brand new DSL connection! Lol I would download music using those odd programs where you never knew what you were getting exactly. Many songs would be wrongly titled either by name or song. But Cradle of Filth was always correctly titled. But I felt like I was the only one in the world who knew of them and was a fan. Back before they ever made it mainstream. The first song I believe I ever heard was "Ghost in the Fog". However this song, it was the song that I believe got the a straight shot into the mainstream. Everybody was loving it. And I was all mean mugging them though because back in the day when I would play their music those same folks were mean mugging me and calling me a straight devil worshiper. Lolol Not that I cared. I've been called that whether slightly true or not at the time, ever since I was 13 when I became a fan of Marilyn Manson. Dani Filth however one of the best Lyricist ever!! Luv ya two! Amy

This song in particular is Gothic Metal (known the most for the juxtaposition of soft angelic female vocals + growling vocals as a duet), while from my knowledge the rest of their discography is more on the Extreme Metal side. If you're interested in Gothic Metal and since you loved Liv Kristine's vocals, maybe you guys could check out the bands she used to be in; Theatre of Tragedy and Leaves' Eyes. Theatre of Tragedy itself is one of the most important bands in the history of Gothic Metal, especially their first two albums. You could also try Tristania's earlier work, my favorite album by them is Beyond the Veil, an absolute masterpiece of heaviness, atmosphere, symphonics, and growling vocals + operatic soprano vocals + clean baritone vocals.

I've always classified them as "vampyr metal" myself.. something about Cradle's sound always takes me back to vampires lol.. If you want more Cradle, check out their cover of Iron Maiden's Hallowed Be They Name, it's amazing!

I got the CD when it first camae out and enjoyed the hell out of it but for some reason didn't listen to CoF for a while. I decided this morning on the way to work for whatever reason to hear Nymphetamine and had the same blown away holy crap reaction. I knew the song and I was even shocked by how damn good it was.

IF you can find it, Cradle of Filth's Babylon A.D. (So Glad for the Madness) is probably my favorite track from them. BUT I'm not certain if they have the original video on KZbin, because it's...well, we will say disturbing, and that's putting it lightly. CoF don't pull punches. Her Ghost in the Fog is another great one from them, and has a bit of voiceover from Doug Bradley, better known as Pinhead from Hellraiser. Dani Filth also has a movie called Cradle of Fear. It's classic B grade horror, gory, creepy, campy...love it.

This genre is called Goth-Metal. A twist between death and scream with a storyline. Nymphetamine Fix is amazing and Cradle of Filth are kings in this realm. Check out some of their other stuff. Keep up the reacts. Loved it.

small fun fact, this is actually a small cross section of a longer version called Nymphetamine Overdose, which has a lot more brutal parts totaling in over 9 minutes if you want to listen to the full track. definitely one of my favorite tracks of theirs, along with anything from their album Midian which i think is their best overall full album. also Dani Filth (lead vocalist) is practically a Hobbit standing at 5' 5" without his platform boots on, the same as Joey Jordison (original drummer from Slipknot) and our guitarist buddy in Nightwish (Emppu) stands at only 5' 3". great things come in small packages

Super cool to see you guys reacting to this and to COF in general. They have a pretty wide ranging sound (I’ve been a big fan for almost 25 years), and if you liked this in particular you should check out their album Midian, especially the song “Tearing the Veil from Grace”. Lush synths, insane vocals, and killer beats all the way through that switch up on a dime. Definitely worth a listen for you. Enjoyed the video, first time coming across you guys and I’m for sure going to check out some more right now.

This is definitely the song that got me into Cradle. Dani is such a unique vocalist and one of the most intelligent song writers in metal. You gotta check out anything from the Midian album. Hurt and Virtue from their Damnation and a Day album is one of my favorites as well
