He is a great and handsome man. The way he plays a conflicted character is very convincing. You can tell when he’s Ash or Voq by the look of his eyes. He speaks Klingon fluently. Great addition to Star Trek

He's so attractive, his mannerisms, his seemingly upbeat persona, his looks. He just seems very down to earth. And l'm loving his work in Star Trek: Dicovery. Looking forward to seeing more of his character's this season.

Brilliant stuff from Latif, that moment when he realised what he'd done to Culber was outstandingly acted. Keep it up Discovery, it's been the best first series for any Trek show ever.

Haven't gotten to watch much of the show, and not at all in order (basically, whatever my friend has on when I'm around), but from what I've seen I really like his character and am looking forward to what they'll do with him. I think him, Spock (of course!), and G. are my favorite characters, so far.

I think Ash Tyler is or will be the Federation President seen on Star Trek IV and VI. The guy did have a quasi-Klingon look and was albino. With Tyler learning to balance both human and Klingon, and interstellar politics, it only bolsters my theory.

So from what Shazad said, he really was Voq's body with Tyler's mind? But why would L'rell then save Tyler by erasing Voq? She loved Voq. The only reason for her to do that would be, if she had no choice. She'd have no choice, if the original body was Tyler's and the implanted mind Voq's. I know, what the doctor said about all the surgeries and stuff, Tyler's body was transformed from something (from a Klingon of course), but why would L'rell want to erase the original mind and leave the implant there rather than the other way around? I know she was basically forced by the Discovery crew, but they would have to understand, if saving the body would require to leave the original mind intact and to erase the implanted one. They said to her to save him, but didn't really specify if Voq, or Tyler. Of course they wanted Tyler rather than their enemy, but if there was no other choice, then having two prisoners, instead of one of them dying would be still a success, I guess.

All the good actors are non-Americans. They really do take the arts seriously.

I feel sorry for the actors that will forever be remembered for being in the worst written Star Trek series ever. Its such a garbage fire despite having some potentially good actors.

Sadly, I agree. The actors are doing their best but they can't rise above the awful story lines. I love Star Trek but this is the first one where I found myself yelling at the screen in irritation 'oh bloody get on with it'!! The writers have totally missed all that Star Trek is about and it is certainly more than slick special effects which is all STD has going for it.

@MonkeyZorr ENT was what ran the franchise to the ground. Though after seeing season 2 of STD, I agree with you. It's pure idiocy now. PURE idiocy. STD doesn't even deserve to be considered a D- hack scifi parody show at this point. Dear God, what the fuck were the writers on? It's ridiculous

So Tyler is a pointless character who has so far contributed next to nothing to the series, and continues not to. With that in mind, when can we expect him to be killed off permanently?
