One thing that I noticed now that I'm seeing the english sub, at 1:22:29 there's a part lost in that translation. Following the conversation, it would seem normal to guess that "Does that mean that you've also..." ends with 'lost someone(s)'. But with the way jap sentences are structured we don't have the verb as he's interrupted, and the sentence ends up being "So that means you also xxxxxx people" when put down literally. So in truth he's actually coming to the realization that she had killed humans to defend herself and her pack, which is why she interrupts him and does not want to answer this question.

Here’s another (far less important) translation note. Also lost in (bad) translation is Lawrence’s exact comment at the very beginning (around 14:20) about having such excellent fur(s) around, which is translated as “Well, you have the finest of fur.” But his actual sentence is more like “That’s because that there is the finest of furs”, so it’s ambiguous whether he’s talking about his marten pelts or Holo’s tail. When she calls him out for lying later, it’s because he pretended he was complimenting her tail when he was actually bragging about his goods.

Note, the question at the end that Holo refused to answer was whether she had ever attacked humans. The line in the anime doesn't make that clear, but it's obvious in the source material. Basically, Holo is implying that she has had to kill humans in the past to protect her pack, not that she had been hunted, herself. No human could threaten Holo.

58:20 That wasn't her burning her tongue. That was her choking because she didn't chew her food enough. Her repeatedly doing it is also my favorite bit in the whole episode. 59:52 She has a pretty good intuition for lies. But that doesn't mean she knows where the lie is or what the lie is about. Like with the shady merchant guy. She could tell he was lying, but not what he was lying about. 1:18:57 Holo fucking with Lawrence with the wolf talk is a great way to show that she isn't as aloof as she likes to pretend.

1:17:22 that also shows how Holo can missunderstand humans. She doesn't understand modern religion that it's on level above her teologically and developmentaly speaking (that holds true to most anime btw since they are made by Japanese) or that humans don't have sense of season and just count time pretty accuratelly.
