What a lucky little girl to have a grandma to sew such a beautiful Holy Communion dress! I was at my church today and they are preparing for Holy Communion Mass this weekend! I love seeing all the kids in their beautiful outfits! Here in Az we are already reaching into the 90's.... its short sleeves and sandals for us! Have a wonderful celebration and enjoy your visit with family!

The dress is beautiful! This week we went camping with my sister-in-law and our 5 month old Pomeranian puppy, Riley. He loved it. Needless to say, I didn't get any sewing done. I am going to try self drafting a purse as my next project. No idea how that will turn out but it will be fun trying.

Your granddaughters communion dress is BEAUTIFUL and she looks adorable in it !! I made my granddaughters communion dress about 6 years ago, WOW, that was nerve racking. She drew a picture and chose her own fabric. I was terrified to cut the fabric and get going on it. I actually basted everything by hand before I sewed it. But it turned out very well, and she loved it. Your sewing is amazing and I know the dress will be beautiful, all those smiles will make it a wonderful memory.

It’s a bit cold in London today! I used stretch lace for the first time and used a rolled hem with my serger. How much more I love my serger now!! Love your passion to sew. Thanks for sharing.

"Magical" is a great description of your tulip garden, especially the shot with the lights--just beautiful! I love how your granddaughter's first holy communion dress turned out. PS Stephanie, we are the opposite season to you so it's getting colder. I have enjoyed being away every week in my RV over the Summer. Today I'm sitting on my deck in the sun, and will have a swim at my apartment complex, and tomorrow I have work. Not sure if I might get to some cutting out / sewing later today. Hi - well done on persevering and getting the Communion Dress complete. It looks lovely as does your grand daughter. My First Holy Communion dress was made by Mary Futter (who then made my debutante dress, and wedding dress) and the fabric was given to Mum by a parishoner. Then 29 years later my daughter wore the dress for her First Holy Communion. I still have it, and now that my daughter has a daughter, I hope she will wear it one day.

It remains cold here on Long Island. The dress is beautiful. Haven't been sewing. Working on Mother's Day cards. We did get out camping first week of April but it was so cold it was not enjoyable at all. Next trip is for Memorial Day weekend. Should be much better weather. Making sweat suit outfit for that.

Hello Hello lol You are doing 👏 with the dress Velvet isn't easy to work with and a overlay so give yourself a pat on the back well done You are on the home stretch I know your frustration with the dots on the fabric That has happened to me or a flaw I keep the sample and when I go back to the fabricland near me They are always so good for giving me a discount on something else Especially if the fabric wasn't on a discount table and marked flawed But it is frustrating for working around it or having to wait because you don't have enough then Hope you get onto some less stressful sewing projects soon I am in my sewing room enjoying making a couple of spring tops and blouses 👚 My renovated sewing room my happy place Listening to my Utube sewing friends Taken care Happy sewing God bless you

It is wonderful that you finished the dress to her and your satisfaction! There really is no pressure like doing a special something for someone you love, is there? I've been working on stabilizing my great-grandmother's wedding dress (sewn in 1882) to prep it for a small town museum. I've been doing it all by hand because the fabric is so fragile. I started the work in January, and I'm hoping to have it finished before June. Once it is off my plate, I will be diving in head first into easy sews... non-pressure things like summer dresses for myself.

Hello hello! Love your hair right off!!! The dress and fabric look fabulous! I( I bought some blue cotton duck fabric from Joanne's and it had black spots...looked like mold and didn't come out after washing...it was unbelievable...So I know how you felt!) Yes, I love the rolled hem on the serger! Fantastic! It's so nice here in South Carolina...cool nights and warms up in the 70's but it's going to be hotter next week. Love your flowers.

Hi that dress is just beautiful and your grand daughter looks so pretty in it. This weekend we are in our caravan only half an hour from home but it is a bank holiday weekend for us in the UK. Just set up the caravan but its quite chilly still! Are you planning another trip soon? Very excited to hear the news re the hoody dress. You did such an amazing job on that dress. I will also be sewing this weekend. I made some pilazzo pants and have to fix my elastic waist. It’s twisted. I’m in Nashville, and the weather is around 80 this weekend and a lot of front porch sittin’!
