Well, just to clarify a point, when he states the fact that Rewind works faster when he is injured, there's an element of concern because it's a liability for him as much as it is for us. If you keep hurting him, he keeps rewinding, younger and younger each time, until he'll presumably rewind into nothingness. So injuries are doing something important, even if they are undone.

The Mentor/Student relationship comes full circle with Hawks losing his ability to fly, when it's thanks to him that Tokoyami is able to fly. They've been saving each other over and over again, concluding with Hawks putting himself in AFO's way when he tried to take Dark Shadow. Hawks stuck to his word about how he didn't want Tokoyami confined to the ground.

So yeah, this was a rough episode. Though, it was interesting to see small, cowardly Mineta purposefully turn AFO's attention to himself. Season 1 Mineta wouldn't have done that.
