You made the right choice with the wallpaper. I love the idea of the day bed. It would be so much easier to clean than my doggies bed. Your room looks so much more inviting and cozy. I recently found your channel and have been binge watching. I’m upset because I am almost to the end of your videos. Lol. I will have to start rewatching. I enjoy watching you and Ryan so much. I use to be a huge crafter and Upcycler. Depression hit and I became very unmotivated and seemed to have lost my creativity. Good Morning Christina, never knew a clock could have such a makeover, it is absolutely lovely, the paint is gorgeous so much better than that shiny wood. We have moved on quite a bit using the modern pains that are available, a complete change. The wall hangings are gorgeous. They match the room perfectly and the mirror looks lovely with the new paper. Daybeds are wonderful. They do add the comfortable look to a room, you can dress them casual smart, very smart, they are such a bonus and people can put their feet up if they have the need. Finishing off the inside of the cupboard with the paper gives a very special look to it. It's nice that Ryan could give a hand in putting it up. That big comfy chair is a real winner. To be able to remove and wash the covers is such a bonus, but rightly so, you can change the colour to suit your mood, even just for a short period. So much work is put into the décor of a room, but so rewarding if you plan carefully. Take care

I’m doing my first chalk paint with salt wash painting project. I’ve never done anything like this before. I want it to be very textured. My question is - can I use white wax on a very textured painted surface? Do I have to use clear wax to seal it first, or how would I seal after using white wax? Newbie here and any advise would be sooo appreciated.

Oh Christina the fireplace looks wonderful. I amazed at how the chalk paint wash with a clear varnish over it looks. The small glass tiles are exquisite. How beautiful the shelves and the bookcases look with the paper background. The blue is absolutely beautiful above the fireplace. I am adtonished to see how beautiful the black looks. Oh Christina, you’ve done it again! Genius! Thank you so very much for inspiring me to dream and hopefully, create😃 I’ve gone from a Victorian home in New York, built in 1892 to a subdivision home in SC (not my choice) the walls are straight, high sheetrock😕 with no character. Absolutely lovely! I'm binge watching your videos. What a beautiful home. The blue is stunning. You were so lucky to have a neighbor sell you those beautiful frames at a great price. As I'm refreshing my home, I'm looking for old ornate wooden frames as well. I love French design, particularly rococo and baroque. It's been hard to find a youtuber with that particular style. It's can be a bit much for most, but I'm all in. I love the way that you match your furniture pieces, so cohesive, comfortable, yet elegant. I know with fur babies it's very tricky. I had 2 red tabby cats and a beagle, it's a job lol. They loved to snuggle in blankets, my faux fur, and park themselves on any project that I was working on at the time, lol. I truly miss them. Btw, your have a most beautiful voice, I could listen to you for ever! Is so soothing and calming, between a TV anchor and story teller, love it. Keep up the good work!

Quite literally while I was watching you whitewash your fireplace, I paused the video and whitewashed my laundry room backsplash! LOL I never even thought about whitewashing it and I already have all the supplies, so I did it! Turned out amazing and it was super easy. You did a great job in explaining how to do it. Thank you!! Love the coffee table!! It adds a nice industrial/textured/natural element to the room. Totally understand the daybed use --and it looks great, too! Have you ever thought about adding a rectangular original painting above the fireplace -- maybe a more abstract landscape--something tonal? Tonal art/watery art was very much a late 19th century aesthetic -- it might look great!

The room turned out so beautiful as I knew it would 😉 I thought of my mom when you spray painted the switch plates and mentioned covering them as well. Back in the late 70’s / early 80’s my mom had lots of wallpaper in our house & she covered them all with matching paper so they wouldn’t ‘stick out.’ She was ahead of her time I guess 😆 Love the paper you chose for the wall unit & the day bed is a brilliant idea!

In part 1 I commented that painting the back splash, where the shelves are, in that blue color, above ur fireplace; would be so pretty, but after seeing how you’ve used the wallpaper in that space…. Hi Christina….it has been awhile as I am doing much of what you are doing! Just to refresh your memory …it’s Kim from Delaware and Hubby and I purchased our home. 24 years ago….6 acre dairy farm…( non working) but we do have 2 horses. Our home was built in 1847! unfortunately in 1988…10 years before we moved in the house was burnt to the ground…..when they rebuilt the house for the former owner it looked very much like the 80s….in decor, trim, light fixtures, etc etc…. What did survive the fire was the 3 walls ( front and sides….all double course of brick). the basement, and the 5 fireplaces. for the past 8 years we have gone room to room changing all molding to 7-8” high baseboards all window trim and door case openings…bigger and more period appropriate, lighting, total transformations of each room--with a nod to the past. Having 5 fireplaces is a decorators dream! All front and. side windows have deep window sills seats…the outside of the house was in good shape……we just replaced our windows this week….and the house will be painted this spring! we are down to the dining room and two bedrooms….watching you has been helpful as we have the high ceilings as well….I’ve been struggling as to what to do with dining room walls….currently just chair rail… thinking of going up 3/4 of the wall with the 1x2 or 1x3 spaced on studs and painting all one color and painting above that and ceilings same color….i do not plan on a formal dining room …I want to feel like it is an extension of our kitchen…as I have 5 grandchildren and Kitchen nook not large enough….thank you for the inspiration….I would love to try that Annie Sloan wall paint….the dining room walls were wall papered and not coming off easily….I’m really excited to get going so I can relax this summer…..enjoyed the video….hope you are loving your new home! i can say I knew you when….when I first started following you I think you had 30k subscribers….your channel has exploded and I’m so happy for you❣️ i remember watching you back then thinking why does she not have gobs of subscribers because your talent has always been there…I ‘m just glad you are out there because you have so much to offer…thank you for sharing😊kim
