Good afternoon Christina from Devon England in the Uk 🇬🇧 I’m just watching your make over and you asked for thoughts on your wallpaper. I love a blown vinyl wallpaper. It reminds me of my first home in 1993 i was just 21 years old and I was a big Victorian vintage fan. I set out to decorate my first home in a very authentic Victorian style. I spent many years back then watching films and researching Victorian decor after many weeks spent looking at wallpaper sample books to order I opted for a blown vinyl that was very similar to the one you have chosen. I am so happy to see you using this style of wallpaper as over the years people have ditched blown vinyl paper for more modern papers. My thoughts on what you could do with your wallpaper would be a daring one and I’m not sure how it would turn out. But I would love to see you try a antique look by creating dark and light tones with two or three different paints in the high and low points or even a wash? Like you have done many times with you furniture creations. I think it would be amazing. I’m all for something different and experimenting esp if it can create something that has a wow factor. Anyway this is what I have rushing through my mind as I watch this video. I would love your opinion on the new Annie Sloan wall paint as I am just about to order it. I am currently in the early stages of redecorating my country home that needs every room decorating. Like yourself many hours will be needed to get this house brought together to its original country village style. I love Annie Sloan paint and first started using it back in 2010! Hi Clare, What an amazing treat to read your message. Thank you so much for all your feedback and support. I definitely will experimenting some of your ideas! The best way I did any changes to colour ideas using Annie Sloan’s wall paints was to try a sample area first and if you are able to try the colour on an area that will get the most natural light reflection the better. AS also carry sample pots. The colour card with the colour tones is sometimes to small to tell but the colours are very true to the pigment palette. Farrow& Ball are also another amazing quality wall paint line , if you have heard of that company? It’s an amazing feeling, even with all the work, to refresh your space! I will be purchasing sample pots of Annie Sloan paints to test in natural light. I have been in my new country home for nearly four months now I decided to live with it as it is to get a proper feel to all its rooms and walls. Similar to yourself I have true plaster walls and some plater skirtings. Which like yourself have lots of dings. I love this though it really is the most natural texture. I am a big fan of neutral colours and just simply adore your colour schemes within your previous and current home decor. I love how you tie in yourself colours and I have said to my lovely other half how calming I find your videos and how I feel instantly satisfied watching your makeovers. My previous home was styled in mid century only for about 10 months and then I moved home here to wonderful Devon! that home was my place creative place for 18 years but I will say the 9 months I lived with modern mid century left me feeling very uninspired so moving here to my country home I am now back to my deepest love of vintage and as I said taking these last four months to get to know the bones of my new home. I thought I wanted to go English country as the home is that but I am still so in love with French country so I have made my mind up to design my home by blending the two together. I have just purchased Annie Sloan’s books I think I I went a little over board lol I received today 11 books. Anyway thank you so much for kindly replying to me this has made my day. @@TheReclaimedHeirloom oh and yes Christina I know Farrow and ball paint I have been using it for many years it is amazing paint with some of the best colours and amazing pigments in my opinion it is one of the UK’s most expensive paint but it is amazing! I will be trying Annie Sloans paint I think for this home I adore how quickly her paints apply. If you have any ideas on the best colours to create a light French country look I would love your advice. Thank you again. 😊

Debbie I watch KZbin videos on chalk painting 6 to 8 hours a day as I have the time because I take care of both of my parents who have dementia and watching these videos as well as practicing on my own pieces of furniture is a huge outlet for me! I could probably do a podcast on the best painters being that I watch so much! Lol!! Christina is one of the best if not the best! I have learned so much from her! I have taken classes on furniture painting and have learned more from Christina and my other 2 favorite KZbinrs!!! I also love her soothing voice and relaxing background music!! Have the vet check his heart. And give him a bit of peanut butter right after the seizure. Seizures diminish the glucose in the brain and peanut butter is a good way to get that back. We had a golden retriever that experienced them. Hugs to the sweet pups.

Poor darling Hatley! I hope he will be okay. We adopted a dog with seizures and it always scared the bejabbers out of us whereas she would ride it out and start to romp again as though it had never happened. The bathroom makeover is GORgeous! You picked the perfect wall art to pick up the metallic elements in there. The wallpaper is perfect. I like it just as is, or painted the Doric white, or painted the Cambrian blue custom lightened with some white.

What if you paint the wallpaper wall to match the other walls for durable washability, and then play with dry brushing it with something subtle (bold?) to bring out that beautiful pattern? Fun to play with your scrap of wallpaper and show us pictures 😁. Christina, it’s surprising to see how much bigger the little powder room looks it’s the new paint! It flows so nicely from the living room. I’ve used paintable wallpaper on my kitchen island. It looked great unpainted as well as painted, which makes it so versatile for wallpaper! Yours looks beautiful as is but a neutral color would look pretty as well. I used the same wallpaper on my kitchen ceiling and faux painted it to look like an old tin ceiling that had been painted and worn, I love it!! I believe it's meant to be painted to provide a coating though, as it details are fairly weak to dents and tears without a hardened paint coating, because I also tried to use it as wainscoting in a hallway and leave it natural, but it showed wear almost immediately just from brushing against it, once I painted it though it was fine.

Love the "small" bath it looks beautiful. I have seen those wallpapers at Lowe's and Home Depot and didn't know how they would actually look when hung. I used that wall paper as a back splash in my kitchen. I VERY lightly dry brushed a pearlescent craft paint over it to highlight the highs and lows in the pattern and then just put a clear coat over it to protect from food splatters. Loved it and received many many compliments from friends and relatives.

❤ I love the small half bath. The hardware and sink bring charm to this room. Because wallpaper is so expensive, I would paint it the same color as the other walls, less likely to tire of a colored wall. The end result is beautiful!

Morning Christina, so nice you see you again with all the great décor and styling ideas. The bathroom is so nice, such a pleasant change to "more" white. That hand basin is such a charm!! Perfect for doing the work but in style. The wall paper is lovely, it could take on the look of tiles. When you try-painted it colour brought out the design more, it looked beautiful but as you said the room is quite small and you wished to lighten it, I think stick with your original idea. A pity, so many of the "old" homes was not designed with windows, I have noticed that in many of the older dwellings. What the reason was for that, maybe to keep the cold out, as the home in the Northern Hemisphere the windows are so much smaller and doubled glazed, where as here in the S H is is to keep the homes cool during summer. Our winter is snow free but it can become extremely cold in winter especially during the month of July! The house is coming together great style, and it is a pleasure to watch the new ideas. Very nice. I restored an 1896 Victorian in the west end of Montreal in 1995. The original bathroom was 9' long and 44" (yes inches) wide. The 10 ' foot ceilings and one window kept it from being claustrophobic. It had a toilet, the old sink and a massive claw foot tub. I changed out the old sink as it was leaking and beyond repair. I kept the original toilet with new plumbing. I also kept the tub. I used very similar wallpaper. I painted mine with mildew resistant paint given the dampness of Montreal's climate, but I did do all walls the same colour. If I could make a suggestion? Try to find vintage advertisements for soap and toiletries to frame and hang. I thrifted a trove of vintage Ivory soap magazine advertisements and framed them in gilt frames. To this day it is one of my favourite renos.

Beautiful, I love the texture of the wallpaper as well as the color it is currently, or if you really still feel like painting, a slightly darker shade. Either way, it's really great, as well as the painting with the gold accents. I also really like Hatley's new haircut, and I hope with all my heart that her fits will fade. Oh Also I grew up with a Visla dog named Chief who had seizures too. I remember how alarming they could be. Most of the time he was fine and had a long happy life. When seizure came on he'd often climb in my lap and I'd just hug tight until it stopped. I hope there are good medicines for your pup these days.

Poor Hadley I had two pups with seizures both were controlled with medication. Gorgeous makeover, I'd put a good sized and colorful painting on the wallpaper wall. Something a little glossy to reflect the light.

Oh no Christina Hadley will be in my prayers!!! I have so much love for my fur babies and I know from watching all your videos that you do too!! Thank God Hadley is with you and your husband because I know y’all will take great care of him! It hurts my heart when animals end up with owners who do not take the care they should of their pets, especially pets with special needs! It warms my heart knowing God sent Hadley too the right people!!! My dog is a pitbull who was severely abused and I have had him for 4 years and he is still scared of people he doesn’t know. He used to hide in a corner when someone he didn’t know would come over. My husband and I had to train him very gently because he was so fearful of everything. He is our love and is so sweet and loving and thank God through the years he has overcome some of his fears although he does go through severe depression and it has taken up to this year ( the 4th year of having him) his nightmares have stopped! He would literally cry in his sleep and it has taken 4 years for the nightmares to stop. I wish I could tell you the story of how I rescued him. He is my shadow and I keep him close and thank God I work from home because he needed me to be with him as much as possible to be as secure as he possibly could be. The abuse he endured was that bad. Your bathroom turned out beautiful! I took my first Annie Sloan paint class today and I have learned so much from you that I really didn’t need to go, although I did enjoy the class and will be attending more to meet people who have my passion for art!!! Hugs to y’all and your fur babies and with all the love you will be giving Hadley I just know he will be just fine!! Love heals!!! He is safe and loved and believe me he will thrive!!

W O W, Christina! What a transformation! That wallpaper is stunning and I think you made the right call in learning it white. I love that shade of blue, but without the natural light it does dull/mute it and feel like it would make the space feel small. Plus it really allows to highlight sink stand and gorgeous unique mirror. I’m so sorry to hear about Hatley. Seizures are scary (I have epilepsy myself), but confident y’all will keep a close eye on him.💜

Lovely home. Nice work on the walls really classy. For the small washroom the wallpaper is great as is but I would use an Art Deco print in an antique picture frame. This would look nice with the other metal hardware in the room.

Love how your colour choices brighten and refresh this house. From experience I do recommend painting the paper to protect it even if you just keep it white. That way the wall next to the commode can be washed.
