Hey Bev, love the way you squeeze everything out of what you have, I have to do that also but prices are WAY!!!!!! different, eg... 500grams hamburger $9.00, Broccoli kg, $6.50, Butter per 500grams $5.20, Cheese $15 for a block that size, Milk $3.50 3ltr, Cream $2.80 300ml, the reason I added the milk & cream is because I try to make my own butter & cheese if I can get milk and cream at those prices (or cheeper) we are not allowed to have raw milk so have to grab and use it when its out of date, then its marked down a few more cents. Love your videos, you inspire so many of us to strive to new levels of home made goodness 👍👍👍👍👍
@lisamartin33463 жыл бұрын
Sounds really high! Where do you live?
@KymsHomestead3 жыл бұрын
In Australia, Mildura, Victoria. Yes prices are very high, I try to grow as much as possable and cann Everything! Or freeze what I cant, lol 7 fridges & freezers, too old & disabled now to grow & kill my own meat so I really feel those prices when I have to buy it.

@@OurHalfAcreHomestead I've got a huge upright freezer full to the brim and then the little freezer on the fridge. I just really stocked up this summer! I vacuum pack everything so it will last for years! I just took out a 3 year old beef roast that was as good as the day I put it into the freezer!

It's like a shepherd's pie but for me better ty Bev I have frozen broccoli that I will thaw before assembling the meals and when I do prepare I'm going to add cheese on top in the last 10 minutes or so. Thanks for always inspiring me to save and if making something why not cook extra to make freezer meals. Much love from Thunder Bay Ontario

Cheese is getting smaller, less sheets in toilet paper/paper towel rolls, 10 hotdogs instead of 12...everything is getting smaller but price is going up. This makes meal prep so much more important!!

Tube meat??
@marciajones64793 жыл бұрын
Cheap hamburger in a tube.
@Jomama023 жыл бұрын
FYI-per the butcher at the grocery store. All hamburger that comes into the store is tube meat. Usually 10lb tubes and they regrind it to a finer grind and repackage it. Lesson learned? Go ahead and buy the cheap tube meat and if you like, regrind it yourself or use as is to get the BEST price!!!
@justanothersahm33733 жыл бұрын
Here in Georgia, all meat that is ground is delivered pre ground in 20lb tubes. I can buy 20lbs of meat a tad cheaper that way.
