Good information, thank you. I just installed a heater in my garage and will be using CSST. I purchased everything I think I need to run it except the bonding connector. Will I need that since my garage is a metal building with electric supply that is grounded and bonded?

In my personal experience the proflex is better then home flex , proflex is almost fool proof compared to this home flex . However if you are a pro home flex is fine but for harry the home owner proflex is safer option because of the way the fittings work and because proflex uses poly ring gasket

Reducing the pipe does not increase the pressure on natural gas. In fact, it would likely cause a drop in pressure. Gas piping is to be sized according to the loads being served. Because of CSST's corrugated design, the pressure is reduced significantly, and unless you are re-calculating the entire system appropriately, you will likely starve your appliances of their required input. Therefore, possibly even creating a dangerous situation. If you do not understand how gas fueled appliances operate and how venting works, you should leave gas piping to the licensed certified professional.

What about bonding required by code! This type of CSST (with the yellow jacket) can build up static electricity. The new black jacket CSST does not have that issue.

You’re correct! you obviously know enough about this product you don’t need to be watching “how to” videos on it. My video is intended for someone who has never installed this product before and is watching a video to determine whether or not the project something they can tackle. This is not an official video from the manufacture.

What happened to your O ring ?
@brockthebuilder87722 жыл бұрын
No O rings on those my friend! Just a steel ring that gets crimped around the ribs of the pipe. The seal is actually on the metal to metal mating surface.

@@brockthebuilder8772 The "0-ring" is actually embedded in the NPT fitting part that goes into the gas pipe. The seal compresses into the CSST when the two sections of the fitting are assembled.

That is such an easy install I would think that you should have used black pipe; cheaper. Waste of CSST! Just a thought!
