Hey all! I’m seeing several people telling me that Adam Rupp did the high notes in the beginning, not Austin, and after further investigation I’ve determined that this is the case! I thought it was Austin, considering it sounds like him. Adam Rupp is truly a freak of nature! Also, side note - this song was released in 1972, not in the 80’s like I suggested in this video. I did mean to say the 70’s, but the 80’s is what came out, haha. Forgive me!

Pretty impressive. Doobie Brothers had a plethora of instruments including 2 drum kits and produced a pretty dang good song. Home Free used their 5 voices and created a killer cover. Every aspect of this was fabulous every voice and harmony were on point, but Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion sent this to another level. He absolutely crushed it. He is world class and always adding new, unique and exciting elements to his performances. Can Adam do a tambourine? Yes. He can also do castanets. I don't think Adam can be compared to anyone. He is unique and one of a kind. You should react to Adam Rupp's drum solo from 2015 (red shirt). It will blow your mind. It showcases his incredible skills and he's only gotten better since. Great Reaction!

Yes! The original was great, and I wasn't sure how anyone could cover this song so well with instruments, much less WITHOUT them! Home Free was definitely the group to do it!

I have been listening to them since 2013 and am definitely a Home Fry! They just came out with a new album So Long Dixie. Has a lot of originals on it. Love your reaction and analysis.

I grew up on classic rock & am a big fan of the Doobie Brothers & had their albums. "Listen To The Music" was a big hit for them back in 1972. Love that Home Free is keeping this great music alive & introducing it to the younger generation. The guys did a really nice job of this song. Austin was great for the lead & loved the background harmonies of Rob, Chance & Tim's bass. Adam killed it on the vocal percussion again. He always comes up with some new & interesting sounds. Adam is doing the high notes as you can see in the slowed down section.

This is simply excellent again!! I have been a fan of the Doobie Brothers for a long time. This song is just timeless. It still swings. Really something for Home Free. So great sung, so great harmonies, bone-feeling bass, But for me it's Adam who makes it truly phenomenal. He nailed it. The vocal percussion is just inhumane and than the high notes he makes. So unbelievably good . For me the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist/mouth artist there is.And the vocal he plays like that high note, I think it shows that he must have a great singing voice And I haven't even mentioned his appearance yet. He's so handsome. 😊😂🥰 I love it, I love Home Free💖

Adam is known to do the bass throat roll as well.....I believe he does them in "Mary did you know"...so it could be Tim or Adam. I think Adam has the widest range of all the members...maybe not singing voice..but definitely with all the sounds he makes. When he does sing, he is a tenor.

Another Home Free upgrade. Tim's range is G0-A5. He said that Adam has the biggest range of all of them. When he sings, he is a tenor whose range is between Austin's and Rob's. And remember, Chance is a bass, too. I am subscribed. And, because you've looked at the SingOff videos, you know that VP lost to HF. Austin mentioned that Tim was singing the lowest in the competition. I read somewhere that Tim actually helped Geoff Castellucci to go lower than he had been able to reach. ( And Tim doesn't do unnecessary bass drops.) By the way, Home Free did do a Hunter Hayes medley video, but they did only "I Want Crazy" on the SingOff. I don't understand people who complain about reactors stopping. That's what a reactor is supposed to do. Thanks.

Meh, just my thoughts. It’s always possible that they are, but the tambourine in this cover, to me, doesn’t sound voice generated. Not to say it isn’t, because I don’t know for a fact that it isn’t. @@hammertime615 The Jaw Harp effect they did in that cover was done by Rob (and maybe another one of them) singing an F2, intentionally adding a LOT of twang, placing the sound in the back of his throat, adding overtones, and reducing the bass from the sound a little in post-processing.

Except for Born in the USA the only time Home Free has instruments in their music is when they feature someone else like Maggie Baugh or Texas Hill. I won't correct you about the high note or the year since you already corrected yourself but I will correct you on one thing...The Doobie Brothers were classic rock not hip hop. And I will agree with you that Adam is THE BEST in the business. Respectfully, I won’t be changing how I do these reaction and analysis/breakdown videos. There is a lot of starting and stopping in these videos for a reason. I take the time to explain what is happening musically, and in order to show you some of the best “unseen” and “unheard” musical bits that make a song great, I HAVE to stop/start a lot. If you haven’t heard the song yet without all the pausing, then I’d recommend listening to the originals BEFORE coming to my channel, so you get more enjoyment out of these reactions and musical analyses m/breakdowns.
