I like this version, but I much prefer the version they did with Avi Kaplan. They also did this when they were on Sing Off. Tim’s last note on the show brought the judges to their feet.

This song has always been a fan favorite. What a great remake of "Ring Of Fire". It was first done on the "Sing Off" in 2013 & then later with Avi Kaplan. The visuals reminds me of "Fishin' In The Dark"/"Boondocks". Chance is a nice addition to this version. Of course love Tim's lows & Adam's awesome vocal percussion. I think he sounds even better this time.

Love your reaction, and I agree on every point. Thanks! 😀 You should go back, now, and react to the version that they did right AFTER their win of the Sing Off. Chris was in it, and Avi Kaplan. Chance was a friend, back then, but he was still singing with his original group. It was done outdoors, around an actual fire, with Avi Kaplan, shortly before he left Pentatonix (also shortly after he had done the little walk-in and walk-out appearance, in the song Tim wrote, "Home Free - Champagne Taste (On a Beer Budget)."

This really is a Ring of Fire of 5 amazing people. 😍This is so well done! 👏🏼Really a more modern version. Happy with Chance's part, where he sounded so cool. Another great upgrade. 💖And a flashy video with an ending that gives you a big smile 😉

It is more somber in the beginning because the judge from the Sing Off said this particular cover needs to show the emotions of the lyrics or be a lot of fun. They decided to do both. Thanks for the Home Free reactions

They've recorded this song a couple of times, but my favorite is still when they performed it on the show "Sing Off". You can find that and all of the other songs they did on KZbin, just search Home Free Sing Off.

All the Home Fries, help me out. For whatever reason I never listened to them except an occasional song. Now I feel like it, but really need to know the 411 on the group because I'm obviously a decade behind. I only know 3 people's names, and one is Austin, who I just saw is leaving. From seeing comments on other reactions, there have been other member changes. Maybe? Where do I begin with my journey? I love this version of the song. It's one of the two or three I saw of the sing-off performances.

Start at the beginning of their KZbin channel. Always a good idea. 👍 Their first music vids were put out in 2013 (the year they won the Sing-Off - those TV videos aren't on their channel, but can be found on YT). The group was founded in 2001 by the beatboxer & his brother (Chris Rupp). There were a handful of members who came and went between then and 2013, but only 1 change after that... and now Austin will make the 2nd change. The guys are all very close friends, more like brothers. They're all married now & two have children (Rob Lundquist & Adam Rupp each have a son & a daughter). Rob has the big beard & glasses & one of the sweetest, yet most powerful voices ever! Adam Rupp is the beatboxer/vocal percussionist who is beyond human! Austin Brown (high tenor who's leaving), Tim Foust (bass with a gray streak & 5-octave range), and Adam Chance (dreamy baritone with 4-octave range, just called Chance to avoid confusion of having 2 Adams) also have their own channels & put out awesome music on their own, as well as collaborations with others. That ought to give you a dang good start! Have fun!!!
