At the beginning of the live version, Chance's low went down into the Tim territory and I'm not sure where the heck Tim went! Austin's smile at the bass singers, Tim's look of pure pride at Chance, opera Rob showed up, Adam being awesome as usual......WOW, I love this. I'm pretty much a purist about Home Free's Acapella sound--in my opinion they are their own best instruments, period. However, they have a genius knack of knowing when to go "outside the lines" to include other vocalists and actual musical instruments to create amazing musicality, so I'll simply trust our Home Free guys to make everything they release to be the best it can be, Acapella or not ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

I believe Ubisoft wanted the instruments. You are the first reactor to notice and mention the tambourine. This was amazing. I cant wait for their costumed video. They have teased some pics of it. What a great song from Chance. The guys nailed it and had a great opportunity.

Glad we are getting a double feature! Chance wrote this for the video game "Skull & Bones". I am not a gamer but love this song. I really like seeing this live version as it shows who is doing what parts. Tim & Chance are doing the really low notes in the beginning. Chance has his guitar & Austin is playing a mandolin. Adam is holding down the percussion sounds. And Austin & Rob are adding a fuller sound with their harmonies. Wish it was the longer version of the song. These guys are so supportive of each other's talents & projects.

I do Know that he has made the sound of cymbals, shakers and, in Sea Shanty Medley, he performed castanets perfectly. With Adam, I wouldn't put too many sounds past his ability to reproduce. I still stand amazed by his Nomonica/harmonica solos.

If you listen, there's a drone sound sort of like you get from a bagpipe when the bag is being squeezed under whatever melody line it might be playing. Adam was in the premiere chat for the lyric video and someone asked about the drone sound and he said it was him using overtone singing (which is used to create the perception of two or more notes being sung at once). The drone notes aren't really bassy -- I can sing them easily and I'm a soprano (though I can't sing them at the same time). So he's not singing bass, but is actually singing multiple notes at once.

Adam can make tambourine and castanet sounds. Since this is such a big production for the game I’m sure many sounds and voices are layered over and over. Austin can play many instruments including guitar and piano. It was great hearing Chance singing low and Tim singing an octave lower. Really made for a great sound. And then hearing opera Rob and Austin come in on the chorus filling out the tremendous sound. Wow!

This was a request for a song to be written for a game to be released in August. After hearing the Sea Shanty Medley Ubisoft decided Home Free and Chance in particular would be perfect to develop their theme song. Yes they do have a guitar and a mandolin in the tune.

A fantastic song written by Chance. I see images of the old days where the pirates all sang together on their ship. So incredible performance. This is so very cool! A totally different sound but again so great. I would like Chance to write more often for Home Free. Home Free can just sing anything. Chance with his perfect low voice for this, Tim's slightly lower voice that goes so well with Chance's. Adam who also contributes to the bass, but also shows the undisputed beatboxer / vocal percussionist / vocal artist. Austin who also plays a musical part but then gets into it vocally with his powerful voice. Then Rob who clearly shows his rich opera voice here. And then that harmony that sounds so good and so beautiful. ❤❤❤❤❤

My son is actually a Game Designer and he was pretty good at it too. His designing was about such a style of games as well. Unfortunately, he didn't have enough money to join a friends' designer agency that they actually started together. And in the Netherlands there was not often a game company where they could work. He then started making posters/drawings of, among other things, "adult" Little Ponies etc, which he sold well at events in America and online etc. Unfortunately, due to the COVID, he was no longer able to go to America to sell and at the moment it is still difficult.

Chance on guitar, Austin on mandolin. The percussion is Adam. Layered, I'm sure. I can hear he brought back the wave sounds, the castanets (or in this case maybe they're bones rattling) and I hear cannon fire. Leveled up from Sea Shanty medley. The doubled up bass at the beginning is crazy awesome. Chance did a fabulous job writing this and he sounds perfect performing it. Rob and Austin singing the hell out of it in the supporting background just makes this soar. Great reaction!

I'm not a gamer but the animation for the game looks terrific. The bass in the live version is even bassier (is that a word?) than the lyric one. Curiously for an acapella band they all can play instruments. Austin and Tim both play piano (Austin does so on "If I Met You Now" on his channel). Chance & Austin both play guitar. Rob can play saxophone & Adam plays drums, trumpet & just about anything else he chooses.

When they do use instruments, they are always seen, there are no hidden instruments. Adam can do tambourine as well as castanets and his famous "nomonica". Has to be layered in production, of course, Very little he can't replicate.

All of the guys play an instrument(s) except potentially Rob. Tim plays piano, Austin plays piano and some guitar/mandolin, and Chance plays guitar (and maybe sax). I really enjoy the live version most. Part of it is the depths of hell bass and also the expressions on their faces. I’ve never noticed one member standing back to watch the others like Austin did at the beginning. Tim looked like he was so proud of Chance and the pure joy on Chance’s face when they went into the last part was so wonderful. And Opera Rob made an appearance! I can’t get over the sound Adam was making at the very beginning! I’ve been waiting for you to do this one. Thanks, Jeremy!

In some online articles, Rob mentions having played sax. In a recent Patreon question about the guys, and which instruments each played, think there was an obscure fact about Chance playing sax and some music scholarship?? Can't recall the exact details but was surprised with the info that was posted. Of course, Adam is a superb trumpet player....all that lung power and circular breathing. He also taught himself drums to make his movements more accurate during his beatboxing performances. Suffice to say, all the guys are very talented!

Yeah Tim went insanely low. Love this song. Chance and Adam killed it and Austin and Rob with their great chorus was stellar. They can all play instruments (although I’ve never seen Rob play one). Adam can play trumpet, drums, and….? Austin can play piano and mandolin and ? Tim can play piano and maybe guitar? Chance can play guitar and ? Rob plays the saxophone. Adam also plays bass guitar. When he was young, if someone from the church band was absent, he would fill in for whatever instrument was needed.

just so you know, Chance is a HUGE Pirate Nerd and helped them put together the Sea Shanty Medley they did during lockdown. UBISOFT commissioned them to write a song for their upcoming game "Skull and Bones" that still hasnt been released for the public. UBISOFT wanted some of the more traditional instruments.
