HOME MADE recovery board mounts !

Who else out there has recovery boards like Exittrax, TRED, Maxtrax etc and has trouble finding a good spot to mount them ?
Sure you can buy mounting kits however some of these are bloody expensive for what they are ....
Well I wanted somewhere to mount mine and with our vehicle being a wagon, a smaller wagon too, we had limited places to mount them .... so I came up with this home made that also doubles up to hold my shovel too - a win win !!!
Cost me bugger all in materials and maybe 1/2 an hour on a Sunday morning to knock up ...
Where do you mount yours ?
Would you make something like this ?

Love your simple design! Intend to build one, with some modifications for my cargobox clearance. Will send photo. However I have a simple improvement suggestion, invert the carrying bolts, and extend ca 2 cm out of the trackboards. Use pipe to bridge the gap to the pin. Then you can loosen rhe boards more easily from the outside. I intend to use 4 bolts. Thanks for a great solution, and supersaver from the overpriced commerical systems.

Nice and simple DIY and cheap. One question though, would you carry extra drilled bolts, just in case you lose them in mud in a mad rush recovering?

G’day Normann, thanks mate. Yeah that’s probably not a bad idea with the extra bolts - if not and I lost one, I could always just throw them up on the roof in the interim to get home but, I like your way of thinking 😁😉👍

@@4WheelingInNSW Another idea though is to drill a another hole just underneath the head of the bolt then thread a 1.5 or 2 mm stainless steel wire rope through it. Secure the other end of the rope somewhere on the board. That way the bolt will always going to be attached to the board mount. I hope you get the picture in trying to portray. ☺
