I still dont understand why so many people shit on this movie, i mean come on! To start out from, who coukd ever think of making a movie about cows? most wild western themed movies focus on horses or cowboys, but i honestly always wanted a movie that focused on cows. I always hear the same argument "Its too happy, its too smiley" Well, i dont find anything wrong with that! Is happiness a crime or something? i never found anything wrong with overly happy movies anyway. Forgettable characters? Excuse me? I remember exactly each and everyone of these characters and how i identified them. Maggie, the sassy cow who wanted to re-do her life after everything she had was taken away from her. Grace, the over positive cow who loved to sing but didnt have the voice at all. Ms. Calloway(however its spelled) The "voice of reason" , she wanted the best for the farm but was too overwhelmed by Maggie's attitude that she didnt always think right. Amelia, the kind farmer who was just devastated that everything she ever had would be taken from her. and that's just to name a few. It has some really good songs sometimes and i honestly laughed a lot with this movie. But then again, thats just my opinion i guess. Shit on me too if you want to
@theheroesofcrash3118 жыл бұрын
I didn't have any problem with how happy or smiley it was... I just felt like the characters and jokes never hit home for me. If you like it, I won't make fun of you or your opinion; everyone has the right to their own opinion of a movie. Heck the Nostalgia Critic has even admitted himself that it's not a critic's job to tell you whether a movie is good or bad, but to provide a lens through which you can view a movie - to provide a point of view which you may agree or disagree with.

Just like The AristoCats ?! C'mon dude, you know your stuff when it comes to animation and you have to realize (even if it's far from a favorite of yours) The AristoCats at least has very nice animation. This is just ugly as hell - I'd rather watch the Super Mario show, at least it's not ugly to a point it's nearly scary. I could bring up more points in favor of The AristoCats (like the catchy songs, the funny chases with the dogs, some enjoyable side-characters...), but I'm a big fan of this film - it's among my 5 fav' Disney movies - and I know Doug isn't - but still, the AristoCats is (at least) one league above this horrid crap)
@shannonbananan85209 жыл бұрын
+FrenchPaul1988 I'd also say that The AristoCats has a lot of charm and fun to it. Not every movie has to be gripping and serious, sometimes some lighthearted fun is nice! Both films were made when Disney was having a lot of trouble, so they needed to make movies that would appeal easily. It's cheap, but it brings the finances they need. Granted, I'm pretty sure the only time that really worked with was with Dumbo, which did really well and helped them in the 40's slump. Otherwise, it's a blockbuster that brings them out of the crapper (Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, arguably Tangled). Anyway, AristoCats had to have done something better, because I watched these both as a kid and I still come back to the AristoCats to this day.

The film would be fine, normally. It isn't as hard to watch as Doug makes it out to be. But while watching it, all I could think was "This is a *Disney* film?" It doesn't look like Disney, it doesn't have the charm or "magic" of Disney films, and the music doesn't even sound like Disney either, tbh. My scout troupe got taken to this. We were the only ones in the theater so we just played tag when we got bored after like the first 5 minutes. The yodeling villain song stopped us for a minute because it just came out of nowhere but that's all

I went back and watched this movie recently because I started getting desperate to see animated Disney movies. In my desperation, I have realized that I love this movie way more than I did as a child. Not only is the animation BEAUTIFUL and the music kind of catchy, but I have a deep rooted connection to the plot. I mean, yes, a woman losing her farm may not seem like "high stakes", but when you realize that she can't pay $750 and you, in real life, have gone through a scare of losing your country house and home, it hits different. Plus, when you miss 2D animation as much as I do, ANYTHING animated with as much love and care as Home on the Range, is a pretty good watch.

That's the issue though, you like this movie because it relates to you, but it won't relate to everyone. If a movie can only be good to a certain audience and no one else then it's not really good is it?

This movie is responsible for killing Disney's hand drawn animation department. This was a dark age of Disney, they didn't even advertise or promote this movie when it came out.

there was a ton of creativity in the animation here; the yodeling villain, the funny dynamic chase scenes, the score was good, the voice actors had a lot of personality. While certainly it didn't take a lot of risks with the story and clearly geared more towards kids, I don't think it's fair to call this a bad movie at all.

Which of the original story drafts for this movie originally called 'Sweating Bullets' would you all have preferred? A timid scaredy cat cowboy finding the courage to take on an *undead* cattle rustler named Slim, or a little bull in the vein of Ferdinand named Bullets who dreams of being like the rancher horses who lead his herd? 'Cause either of those ideas by Mike Gabriel of Pocahontas and Rescuers Down Under is better than what Michael Lambash and Will Finn came up with!

Hell, the original plot would have been a better movie. It was about an undead cattle bandit hypnotizing a bunch of cows *to take over the White House* and a ghost cattle rancher would have had to save it--they even titled the movie Sweatin' Bullets. Instead they axed that and we got "Aggravating Cows: the Movie."

Ever notice that important information is removed from his summary when he hates something? Like the fact the new cow lost her last home because her last owner was robbed of his whole herd except her and he couldn't afford to take care of her because of it and the bandit they were after was the reason she lost her last place.
@daliborjovanovic510 Жыл бұрын
Umm...no, not really the case. At least not here. It's a 3-minute review where gives his general opinion of a movie. And either way, that's not super relevant info that magically improves this movie.
