Yes this is the song with surprises. It's so great. Home Free is good. All the switches they do is amazing. Super sung. The Inhuman and Incredible Adam. Tim's tenor, Chance's deep bass. And Rob and Austin taking a different pitch too. Home Free is the group for me. They are so great, but still keep their own identity. No egos.

This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original range.
@SBQDawn2 жыл бұрын
They are all singing in CAM's Key !

This is the song that used to be the surprise with Tim singing in his higher range and Chance covering all the bass, but especially his solo bass drop. Now that the cat's out of the bag, Tim and Chance switch off easily and frequently. And the song is about a toxic relationship that they just can't seem to let go of. They know it's bad but they just keep staying together. Great reaction!

Great reaction! You never know what you'll get with Home Free. Besides pure talent. When they overlay, Tim joins Rob. And before Chance part, Tim went high with Austin.

Yuri, I live in Belgium with my husband and have for the last 7 years and came upon your channel by accident when you did Helplessly Hoping by Home Free. I knew that Mayday would blow you away simply because it's so unexpected. Tim in the rafters and Chance in the basement. Not what you have seen before. Let me say that the rabbit hole of Home Free is nearly endless. But to help you out, here's some names of already released songs that you should check out. In The Blood, The Dreamer, Between a Rock and a Heartache (FB release only if I recall), American Pie, When a Man Loves a Woman, Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash cover) and Woman, Amen/Female (Dierks Bentley cover). This is just a snippet of what is really out there. Thanks for the great reaction as always.

@lisaseverance67852 жыл бұрын
One other thing to really surprise you. Many people miss it because it is not emphasized. Normally when the guys do claps in the studio for a track, they do the claps in the video. But if you watch, when the claps are happening, they are not clapping. But watch Adam closely. Adam tends to gesture when he is doing sounds. So he is making a hand movement when the clap sound happens. So...Adam is making the clapping sound we hear through out the song. But he replicates it so well that no one picks up on it! It's really quite cool once you figure it out. The Cam video is about Amelia Earhart, famous female pilot who disappeared while attempting to fly around the world. Which would be the connection to the term Mayday. But thelyrics are about a relationship slowly dying and neither person really knows how to leave it.

The story behind the song is quite interesting. I looked it up on the internet as I had never heard the song before Home Free's version, nor heard of the artist. Cam, the original singer of this song, was in a bad relationship she was trying to get out of at the time, as was her co-writer who is a man. They came together to write this and each contributed separate parts of it from their own individual experiences with their relationships. It has some interesting lyrics in it, particularly when sung by men. I agree, I didn't think the original video was all that good. They used the airplane theme due to the title Mayday.
