Bless you Mark for what you do for the homeless. I'm on a fixed income and understand the struggle to make ends meet, although I have never been homeless and can't imagine how that feels. We give to our local homeless shelter but it feels like it is futile. I am starting to believe there is nothing that can be done to solve homelessness. I contacted both of my Senators and both of their staff members tell me that their are much bigger problems to address than homelessness. I've lost hope on helping because it is a problem that is unsolvable. Life is unfair, some are blessed to live in mansions while others are damned to live on the street. It's just a crying shame.

Reese Barron That’s great, sometimes you have to move somewhere else to move up. If that doesn’t work out for you, Mankato Minnesota offers a lot of help. My little bro went up there as a single man a was able to get employment and housing help fast.
@brittaolson65505 жыл бұрын
Thrusha S Saint Cloud, Minnesota is pretty good, too. I moved there from Minneapolis to get off the streets because the Minneapolis housing list was 11 years and St. Cloud was nine months. Some of the subsidized housing is filling up in Saint Cloud, but there are other programs opening and it’s still a good place to move. They also have excellent food shelves and at the Catholic charities one you can even shop for your own food like you’re in a grocery store and get what you eat instead of just random things that they give you in a box. You can go there every day and get bread if you want to. They allowed me to shop three times a month rather than once monthly because you get about a weeks worth of groceries each time and I was not getting any government assistance at that time. I don’t even get government assistance anymore. I work and pay my bills. It was a great opportunity.

A CDL is not the answer to everything. Are you gonna tell every homeless person to get a CDL? I bet you this man is descended from slaves and black men make up damn near half the homeless population. Reparations for #ADOS is needed to close the racial/lineage wealth gap and get these black people off the streets. The rest could be gotten off the streets with a housing program and a sizable investment in America's infrastructure to create jobs.

Tiny House Dreaming and where is he going to get clean clothes for job interviews? where is he going to do laundry if he got the job and needs decent clothes every day? or shower? where is going to pay for the courses to aquire the CDL?
@TinyHouseDreaming5 жыл бұрын
@@daltonbedore8396 First off OTR drivers rarely interview for jobs. Its all done over the phone and you get a ticket paid for by the company to the terminal to begin training with that company. OTR drivers are also paid weekly so one could quickly afford the thubgs they need. We earn shower credits at truck stops like Pilot, Flying J, Loves, T/A for fueling as well as can take showers at the companies terminal. You dont have to look good to drive a truck across the country and you make damn good money to do it. I was living in my van when I first went into trucking and can attest 1st hand that the money you make out here is life changing for someone in that situation. Plus the truck is a home so all the money you make (which is 1000+ a week might I add) can be saved. I spend about 59 weeks a year in my truck which has a refrigerator, microwave, invertor, etc... And plenty of companies train you to get your CDL for FREE! YES FREE. Prime Inc, Swift, Warner, CFI, Stevens Trans, Wilson, Raider Express just to name a few. Your response seems rather negative as if a person should not even try or consider a CDL as a way out of homelessness but your obviously not at all educated on the topic. I am living proof that it can be done. Watch my vlog if you dont believe me.

"I'm on the street, but I'm not of the street." Great line, and great thing. Good thing for him is, he and his wife can look out for each other. As opposed to being alone. So, like how he said he used to sing. If his wife sings, she could do that during the day, downtown as people pass by, and hopefully a few people will give them a dollar or two for singing, and maybe he could video record a few of the songs (assuming he has the technology), and post it on KZbin, and it would be nice if that turns out to be their big break. Or, if someone walks up on them, if he has his back turned, she could warn him, and they could get out of there. Etc. It's good that they have each other to look out for each other, rather than them being alone.

@@BigBodyBiggolo All of the "shortages" have an iffy factor, that is true, and low pay is a big factor, or what the employers like to call "skills shortage", meaning unless you got 2 PhDs don't expect to afford a home lol. But for a teacher to be 5 years homeless, well, that is 1000x less likely than an ex-con being in the same situation. Among other things, US teachers can pack up a suitcase and a husband and get a job in about half the planet, from the UK to Dubai to Shenzhen. PS the idea of a stable marriage being that you have double the chances to keep an income through thick and thin, and double the extended family network for the very rough patches.

Pray Ming he gets counseling/another chance. Sometimes, he may not be able to work now due to trauma-and it’s harder since he hasn’t worked or built enough skills in 8+ years. Have to be sympathetic though-it’s not just the solution to tell him “get a job”-many haven’t been through his situation. He has to want the help though-maybe a church could help.

This Man has Blessed my heart tremendously I enjoyed every bit of this video.. I honestly wish you could've spoke with his wife simply to hear what she had to say. Jesus I pray that you continue to Bless my dear brother and sister with the desires of their hearts with perfect health and allowing them to continue to spread your Love and Your Word to those who know not of you or may have strayed away from you.. Teaching all that no matter how rich or poor one may seem you are still Our provider and always there.. With knowing what we have or don't have does not measure your Love for us and that no matter where we're at in Life our Praise and Love should never change towards you...with knowing that in all We do or Go through we shall always give you the Glory and the Praise in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

He needs to be a man and step up! Real men are supposed to lead and provide not say this and that isn’t available or the blame game. Excuses only hinder people, it’s time for him to be a man. After all , no drug or alcohol problem and no disabilities. 🤔 What’s the hold up? And don’t say it’s God’s will or go putting it off on him.
