This is sickening. A man like Dale should be FREE housing, food, medical care, and anything else he needs to live decently and humanely. All this blather with yellow ribbons, bumper stickers, flag waving, and all the pretty speeches about "serving our country", "sacrifice", and patriotism has a hollow ring when you see veterans of ANY age out on the street, unable to live like human beings. There is plenty of money around, but this country's priorities are screwed. We need to stop interfering with the problems of other countries, close overseas military bases, bring back the jobs, and all those very skilled military personnel to rebuild this country. We need to care for our own people.

It's very sickening knowing that retired veterans get no support in any way, once they are done doing their deed for America... But, football players get paid millions.

I just saw this video, and I understand from the last viewer’s comment, that this veteran (if still), has been 8 years on the streets! I hope he has been taken care of in between. If not, what a big shame and sin for USA. Really? This man served in Vietnam, and his army, country is letting him live like this? Aren’t they just ashamed of themselves? This good man is still making jokes, laughing, God bless him. I would very much like to know where he is now, and if he received any help.

I served with Dale at Marine barracks Washington D.C. back in 1974-75. He was the special services sergeant and we did know of his Nam experience. Yes, he was shot twice, but also bayoneted left for dead on the Rockpile. He was a very generous type of person, alway's calling everyone sir. How he ended up like this is shocking to me. Also we all called him "Gator" his nickname. So, all the doubter's out there.. this guy was for real.

Must have been Rambo.

The stuff on his hat shows his military experience. This guy was a US Ranger. They are specially trained for more difficult operations. And all that training gone to waste when he was disabled. I get that we should feel sorry for this NAM vet and I do. I think it is an absolute outrage that he is on the streets. My problem is with the presenter. Here we are out on the street and people are walking around you saying nothing to you as they go hither and yonder. I'm autistic so please forgive me but WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN OUT ON THE STREETS GOING ABOUT MY BLOODY DAY! If I see a homeless bloke on the streets am I expected to walk over and chat him up. I figure he has his life to lead as I have mine. I don't chat up every chap I see in my travels. I have places to go and things to do. Also not every homeless fellow wants you walking over for a curb side chin wag. It's hardly like the homeless chaps wear a bleeding sign saying please come over to talk and by the way could you spare a fiver to go towards me next shoot up. Come on Mr. Presenter get your head out of your butt and come down to the real world. In the real world people are going from one place to another and usually on a schedule of some kind. No one is passing by because they want to be unkind. Besides what would you say to a homeless chap. Hey mate come here often? Oh Really Cheers!
