Homeless Poverty In British Expat Paradise 🇪🇸🇬🇧

In this video I return to Benidorm to further shine a light on the amazing work that my friend Jonny does to help those in need and to highlight the shocking homelessness problem in the resort. Benidorm is a magnate for holidaymakers but it is also home to many who live in poverty and despair. Without the work of Jonny and his colleagues both at his new organisation City Streets Community Project and the wonderful Project4All, many unfortunate people on the Costa Blanca would not receive hot food, vital supplies and humane compassion. Upon my first visit I was also shocked at the conditions that many marginalised Spanish Gypsies live in the area. We also meet British expats struggling to feed theirselves due to lack of legal work visas as a direct consequence of Brexit.

I've only come across your chanel recently. You have found your calling, your empathic and non judgemental. This is a part of what you meant to do. This is ground zero, where all the bad stuff starts. Caring and helping in this way really makes a difference and fosters community. Find volunteers by there passions and let them do it. Well done to Johnny and to you for promoting this project. There is a similar association in Naples too, it's called "Si puo' fare di piu'" which means "More can be done" in English or " Se puede hacer mas" in Spanish. The Association receives a lot of support from local fruit and veg shops ,Restaurants, Pubs, and Pizzerias too ,which donate food and drinks on a regular basis, also once a week or so, many local people volunteer to cook meals ready to be collected by the members of the Association who will then distribute all to the people that need help. Step by step , small actions will make a big difference.

Fair play to Johnny in helping out, I have to say from myself being in a situation of need of food even though I got a job and a mortgage but have been on sick pay due to a broken ankle and then fallen into debt it's very hard to get back on the straight and narrow. I get no help from the government due to working, 25 percent discount from council tax as I'm a single person, no TV licence as I can not afford it so I don't have a television. I catch bus to work and back it takes upto 3hrs in travel, and when I first went for food handouts it got to me. Due to fact I was the only man what I saw going for them. Rest of the people were women for family survival I think. My central heating went in November I have had no warmth apart from one room due to electric fire. So I appreciate the help people provide. The issues I face are just hurdles in life, I even went twice to Ukraine in the war to bring a family over, one because I have empathy and 2 I wanted money to survive. I failed because had a football hooligan conviction of 2yr prison sentence 29yrs ago. I passed my db's check and home visit, I put heart and money I could not afford just to help them and me. I fight my down side of mental health with the belief life is full of hurdles just get over them. Some people can not so trust me not all beggars are fake or need money for drugs due to they have adapted to street life because drugs have taken priority. God bless the kind civilians who help those who really need help x

Just seen Paula on TV on a Benidorm programme now she lived on the caravan site like said and she use too take in any donated items and sell them to raise money for the cats and have them spade and any under 2 years of age she’d try and get them adopted she had 2 caravans one for the sale items and one for living in with her partner she just loves animals
