I let an unhoused relative stay in the home I grew up in which I inherited. Now it is not fit to be rented because of all the damage... does that make me some kind of amoral jerk? Why don't we try helping Americans instead of injecting a million illegal immigrants into our cities and towns to steal services from taxpayers? Wouldn't that be moral also?

There may be five abandoned houses for every unhoused person, but I suspect that the majority of those houses are not in places where people, particularly migrants, want to live. People aren't exactly flocking to Gary, Indiana.

First time in US and in New York and I was shocked by the homelessness and how many people on streets needing mental health help. As a tourist, I will not visit America again. The gap between rich and poor is shocking.
