For those who don't know she use to be a famous talk show host in the 90's alongside oprah and Sally jessy rafael Geraldo Rivera etc. I use to be hooked watching her show. I'm glad she's moved on to better things such as a cooking show. She makes everything so much simpler. Keep it coming Jenny great job and more power to you!

I am 60 years old and have always been too intimidated to try and make a pie crust. This is the first time I see a pie crust being made that won't intimidate me. I had already had frozen pie crust in my freezer when a neighbor came by and gave me a box of these green apples, so I decided to look up a recipe and found yours. I haven't had a chance to make your pie crust but I am truly looking forward to making it now and I do not feel intimidated. Your pie with the frozen pie crust I had still came out fabulous! Thank you so much for your wisdom, knowledge and time. I really appreciate you making this video for all of us.

Anything Jenny makes is GOLD. You dont need to look anywhere else it has been tested & simplified and healthy is always mandatory even in desserts she finds ways to reduce sugar or fats and make better choices. Her meatloaf sold me ( the BEST🏆) and everything else I've made is beyond excellent... I'd say AMAZING & exceptional. Miss her want her back she has so much to offer beyond recipes. Her humor, wisdom and likeability are a gift. Jenny you are loved.

Jenny, I've made your crust and pie recipe over a couple of dozen times. Folks, this is a good one. The only modification I make is adding a 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, and sometimes sweat the apples in a pot before adding the sugar/cinnamon, then tapioca flour (last step.) I also add a 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder to the crust recipe for a lighter crust.

Apple Pie and a cup of hot coffee...mmmm. I learned from an old cowboy cook decades ago to use tapioca or corn starch in it so it is nice and think with no runny juice. You can pick it up and eat it with your hand and it wont fall apart or run juice all over. Thanks for the video.

My mother was an exceptionally good pastry maker and we had apple pie most Sundays, growing up. I'm not much of a sweet tooth and am a cook and not a baker - too much science involved for me and mess in the kitchen. HOWEVER. Despite finding this video a little bit 'cheesy' (USA vs UK culture perhaps - we are a miserable and cynical brood!) . . . I've found myself making your pie 6 weeks on the run . . . it is just perfect . . . so amazingly simple and the best ever. I'm hooked on apple pie! No good with Granny Smiths in the UK - we are to use bramley apples to make it perfect. Last week I did it with apple and rhubarb which was divine. I'm gonna try apple and plum today. Thanks Jenny Jones. Don't think I'll ever get bored with this one. Its my Covid-19 blessing!

Hi Jenny; Made your Apple Pie last night, Made a few adjustments, only pealed one apple then left the peal on all the rest, added Nutmeg, Allspice, and Clove. The hardest part was waiting for the pie to cool!!! This Apple Pie was so GOOD even with the peals!!! This was my first Pie made from scratch!!! Had pie for dinner and pie for breakfast!!! Thank you Jenny for all your recipes, Aloha

Thank you Jenny, your recipes are great. I don't have a pie dish so I used the apple pie bar recipe on you blog (but used only 3 apples). Baked it in a rectangular baking dish, stuck the crust in the bottom and the top together. It turned out to be a rectangular pie, and I cut it into squares to serve. The flavor of the crust is light and lovely, can't stop eating it! Easy to make as a vegan pie if you swap out milk for soy/almond milk. Awesome!

Excellent Recipe Jenny (as always) !!! I have a suggestion : You stressed the importance of being careful NOT to sprinkle sugar around the edge of the pre-cooked pie. Well,,,,why not use the Baking/Pie Ring as a cover for the edge and then you minimise/eliminate the chance of 'sugaring' the pie edge. Also,,,,,,why not use the lightly floured Rolling Pin to 'wind' the pastry around it then transfer the pastry to the Pie Dish - it's more controllable and accurate when laying your base layer pastry into the Pie Dish. The same with the pastry for the top of the Pie - minimal fuss - minimal waste.

I always make own pie crust, I also use 3 lbs of granny smith apples but I don't use milk, I use ice cold water to make my crust. My Dad had his own deli/bakery as a young man and would make all the pies and pastry for his deli. He told me the key to flakey crust is not to overwork it, and to put a glass of water with ice cubes and let the water sit until the cubes start to melt, the glass sweats and the water is cold. I have faithfully followed this and my crust is always flakey and friends and family love it

You see, yours sounds great but complicated. I bet yours is delicious too. Jenny makes it simple, i dont feel intimidated, and will actually try Jenny's recipe. The truth is, it will be my first time making a crust, and i have Jenny to thank for that.
