The corn starch. Never dump unless you want lumps. Should have whisked corn starch with a bit of water first, then incorporate.

So, you've got the right idea and that's essentially what we did in this video -- Cornstarch was added it to the water and spices and mixed up all before putting over the flame! No lumps, I promise!

I made this for my family an it was sooooooooo scrumptious!!!🍎🍰 but it was a bit to sweet for my likings. So an easy fix is to add a bit of lemon juice and salt. It should make it less sweet.👍 other than that it was wonderful🤤

Bridget I must tell you that this is THE ONLY Apple pie recipe that I have used for the last six years. It has never failed me and everyone I’ve shared the COUNTLESS pies I’ve made has been equally as in love. You absolutely nailed it with this recipe! I use a staymen apple and it’s just the perfect amount of sweetness. Perfect!

Why it needs to cook the apple? Cause the apple will be baked it in the pie shell and the apple will be cook and soft up, As I was a cook for some years and I know about cook and baked foods👍👍😊😊

Deby -- In my opinion, you should cook as directed in the recipe. The apples are still firm, but not raw, if you follow the instructions. If you choose to add the apples just before baking, the apples are going to take too long to cook in the oven -- your pie crust will be overdone! But feel free to experiment if you want! This recipe works very well as written.

You don't use the yolk of the egg and I let mines boil to get the th I knead cause it takes less time but I like yours better than most as yours is more detailed

Tried this and the apple flavoring was out of sight-- plus i used red delicious and the apples did not become a mess-- it was delish! Highly recommend this for apple pie filling! Yum yum!

I've done green apples but now I well try red apples. Looks good. Thanks. First time I made an apple pie I was in my twenties. I didn't think it came out as good as it should. I followed the recipe to the T but I was learning how to cook. I asked my grandmother why it didn't come out and she said because it's not from a can it's homemade and it will be different. I thought oh okay. Yes over the years I've learned homemade is better than the can filling. Happy thanksgiving. I can make a pie crust from scratch but getting the edges to look real nice is a different.

I didn't have "cloves" - I don't care for it.... don't use it but picked up some "All Spice" the other day as a "Just in Case" for the holidays and it worked GREAT! My husband LOVES IT and so do I! Hi Bridget. My lovely bride requested stuffed pork chops for dinner. I usually use stove top stuffing but I seen a recipe on KZbin for apple stuffed chops. The apple stuffing is exactly the same as apple pie filling except you add onions in with the apples. I didn't want to use canned apple filling so I jumped on-line and chose your recipe. Just needed to add the onions. Good recipe! Very easy. Loved your 1st time video. YOU GO GURL! I will follow your future posts. Thank you.
