@BlueRoseandPear Жыл бұрын
Hey! I'm glad you like this recipe! I do not think it's good for the dough to be frozen, I haven't tried it myself though. What I usually do is bake these and freeze the rest. Bake or air fry frozen waffle for about 5-10 minutes at 180C, depending on your oven or air fryer. It will not affect the flavour at all. ☺️

Oh, yes, you can, definitely. I just use butter since it's healthier than seed oils, and it tastes better too. 🙂

Hihi, may I know what's the temperature for you to proof the dough at the warm area u reffering to?
@BlueRoseandPear Жыл бұрын
Hi, by warm, it should be roughly 23-26 C. In winter, I just place it inside the oven, without switching it on, and leave it for about 2-3 hours until it doubles in size.

@@bluemoonx_x You're lucky! tropical islands are the best! It's easier for you to proof the dough as well. In summer, I don't have to wait longer for proving. It would only take me about 40 minutes to an hour.

I usually freeze these and pop them in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 200C. You may store it in the fridge for two days but I suggest not more than that since it will dry out. I highly recommend freezing these though.

@BlueRoseandPear5 ай бұрын
I would suggest proofing the yeast first, even if it's instant, and add a little sugar. The milk should also be at around 35°C. I do this every time I bake bread, and the yeast grows perfectly fine. I hope this helps. 😀

Not only does this look delicious, I bought the same waffle iron and I’m on the hunt for fresh yeast. Having read the reviews on Amazon, they are saying they take at least 10 minutes to cooke a batch. I’d like to use the same recipe as you so I have a couple of questions. 1. Did you use oil/butter before making waffles? 2. Did you find it took longer than expected. Thanks in advance 😊
@BlueRoseandPear Жыл бұрын
I used butter in this recipe. It just gives you better flavour than seed oil. I believe it only took me 5-6 minutes to cook two at once, maybe less. It's been a while since I made Liège waffles 🤣 it's probably time for me to make these again.

@BlueRoseandPear Жыл бұрын
@@BritishinGermany I usually don't since the butter in the dough is enough; however, it really depends on your waffle plates. You can always test it without and see what works.

Your waffles look quite firm on the inside, instead of being light and fluffy, while crispy on the outside. I also noticed that you had difficulty breaking the waffle open towards the end of the video, which proves that your dough was too stiff for waffles; it needs to be more sticky.

I agree 100% with the last comment. This video and recipe are amazing! Thank you very much!!! I am doing this recipe for the third time!!! I love Belgian Waffle, I've been looking for a waffle recipe that I wanted to make for a long time. But either I had the impression that the recipe wasn't good (even though I didn't make it) or I didn't like the video... But when I saw your video I soon realized that I would have to test your recipe, I did and it was incredible. The second time I made it, I just put a little more sugar in the pearl because here in Brazil we like things sweeter and because I like to eat it pure, I don't put anything in it. Thanks a lot, sorry my english, I use Google Translator sometimes.

Very nice recipe! Although i don't like how you treat it like a brussels waffle in the end... overstuffing it. It's so delicious on it's own. The heavy caramelized yeasty buttery flavour doesn't match with strawberries in my opinion. You mask the flavours that make this waffle so good.
@BlueRoseandPear7 ай бұрын
I actually agree with you but I love stuffing it with cream and berries sometimes when I'm hungry so I guess it really depends on what I crave at the moment. I do prefer eating it as is because I can actually savour the waffle.

There's no such thing as a Belgian waffle, though. The proper name of the waffle you baked is a Liège waffle.
@BlueRoseandPear Жыл бұрын
Internationally, it's known as Belgian waffle especially when it's made of yeast instead of baking powder but yeah in Belgium, they mainly call it Liège waffle.
@Lu-MingPan-b5w Жыл бұрын
@@BlueRoseandPear Sorry but "Belgian Waffle" is strictly restricted to the US. It's a waffle made with baking powder instead of yeast. Your waffles also have way smaller pockets. A typical Brussel waffle pockets are 3cm. Also, waffles are basically a snack in Belgium and aren't eaten for breakfast. A Liège waffle is made from a yeasted dough, doesn't matter whether it's fresh or instant. A Brussels waffles also has yeast but is a liquid dough. There are some other waffle types to be found in Belgium.
