For the spinach and kale you can put the liver and the egg and a smidge of water in a blender snd make that the gravy on the meal. My cat eats all raw. She is so much healthier since I switched her to raw. She is a rescue. The vet was really impressed with her health and recovery. When I got her she was battling after basically suffering malnutrition from living in the street after being abandoned by her owners. She loves her raw food. I went in a trip and had to take commercially canned food for her. After she ate it she looked at me and cried. She was very unhappy. She never cries after she eats the raw.

Fortunately, now raw food that has been freeze dried can be easily purchased online if not available in the stores. Easy to pack for trips and reconstitute with water at feeding time.

The total price of raw diet is or can be cheaper than buying a super high end brand of kibble. NOT HAVING THE FUNDS. Is not an excuse. Go to a cheap grocery store. Mexican stores tend to have really good quality meat and for really cheap

I’m just soaking up all of the information I can get so that I can give my dog the healthiest diet that’s right FOR HIM (btw thank you for emphasizing that quantities are different for every dog. It's ok, the fact that you feel bad means that you are a good human. Maybe next time you can rescue! Pit bulls are awesome, but remember that there are so many more different kinds of dogs in shelters and rescue organizations. Another common misconception is that if you rescue, you can't get a puppy. That is not true! There are SO many puppies and preggo momma dogs. I got my dog at 9 weeks, just be patient. We are all learning and growing!

Its perfectly okay not to rescue - Sure many are put down, but you are not responsible for those animals deaths. The people who dumped them are. Many are there because they have behavioral problems that most people aren't equiped to handle. It isn't your responsibility to save them. You don't have to disrupt your life over someone elses lack of responsibility. Your only responsibility is to ensure you properly raise your own puppy so it doesn't end up in a shelter, and don't allow your dog to produce accidental litters - be it through careful management or desexing!

Kyle Johnson awesome question. Raw food is actually MUCH more dense in nutrients because it’s not cooked. All kibble is cooked and processed, which comprises the nutrients

Yes, it is difficult to make sure young puppies are getting everything they need from a DIY diet. I’m a raw feeder but I recommend a commercial raw diet while they are still growing, then switch to DIY.
