It's so easy and cost effective to make your own homemade Febreze room spray. It only takes 3 ingredients and is simple to make. I have 2 recipes to share that use essential oils and natural ingredients. One room spray is made with baking soda, the other room spray with alcohol, witch hazel or unflavored vodka. These homemade Febreze room sprays will eliminate odors and leave your house smelling fresh and clean!
The best spray bottles are glass as found here: amzn.to/2AbzqzN
Witch Hazel: amzn.to/3dxmh2i
Or buy a plastic spray bottle from the dollar store. Sometimes the dollar store ones tend to clog and not spray as well. Just be aware.
Recipe #1
2 cups distilled water
1/2 cup witch hazel OR rubbing alcohol OR unflavored vodka
15-20 drops of essential oil
1. Mix essential oils with liquid of choice
2. Place in a spray bottle and shake to incorporate before each use.
3. Spray as an air freshener, fabric refresher or linen spray
Recipe #2
2 cups distilled water
1/4 cup baking soda
20-30 drops of essential oil
1. Mix baking soda and essential oils together
2. Add water and pour into spray bottle, shake to incorporate
3. Shake before each use
4. Spray as an air freshener
Recipe #3- no essential oils
(I don't use the above spray enough to hurt my dog, nor ever spray my dogs bedding or toys. But if you want to have no essential oils around your dog or cat...)
2 cups distilled water
1/4 cup baking soda
3 tsp. isopropyl rubbing alcohol
1. Mix water and baking soda
2. Pour in spray bottle- add rubbing alcohol
3. Shake to incorporate and spray as air freshener.
4. Shake before each use.

Hello! Just to let you know, the baking soda over time builds up so make the other one or half the amount of baking soda.

I LOVE this recipe! My FAVORITE essential oil combo is tea tree, blood orange, and lemon! It’s so fresh and natural smelling. I also use that combo in my natural vinegar cleaner!

@Rachel Pinson, when you said (in your last sentence), “in my natural vinegar cleaner,” what is that method, and what do you clean with it please? We just installed plank hardwood floors + smooth tiles in rec. room, where we play pool, kitchen, hallway & baths. I’ve been using Swiffer upright dusters and then Swiffer Wet Jet; either that or Bono WetJet, and it’s getting a little too expensive to use on a 4,000 sq ft house! Besides, they both streak on the tile! What would you recommend? Thank you in advance for responding, my dear! I certainly appreciate it! 👍🤛🏼👏😸

Funnel 😂 I’m sure you know by now. I’ve made a 50/50 witch hazel and water spray with lavender and rosemary for years and keep it on my bedside table for pillow spray! When I go to my room at night, I spray my pillows and comforter a little, and by the time I’ve changed, brushed my teeth and finished skin care, it’s dried and softly fragrant, and I believe it helps me fall asleep. Just discovered your channel and really liking your natural bent, right down my alley.

wow, I used REAL stuff on my microfiber couch yesterday (unstoppables one) and it made white spots on the furniture! I had to use alcohol (which is a great cleaner for microfiber) to get them off! I have used Febreze brand and I don't remember it ever doing that.

Everything I’ve read says if you use vodka, then no water should be added because it dilutes the unscented alcohol, which isn’t necessary. Just a thought.

You're welcome! The one without the baking soda is definitely the better one since the baking soda can leave a film when it lands on a surface. Mostly if it is a dark surface.

I actually don't use perfume. I used to, and love the smell but it just wasn't worth it to me. I did a video on the thyroid and perfume. "Protect Your Thyroid- The Dangers of Perfume & Body Spray" kzbin.info/www/bejne/epfEnYmor6tsqsk I know a lot of people use essential oil as their perfume. But I haven't found one yet. Do you have one you like?

Because the essential oil ruins the plastic, over time though. So, it's suggested to use glass, however, not necessary.
