Homemade rc outboard: Construction video

This is a build video for my homemade "Mercury-style" outboard. The outboard is designed so as to adopt two important characteristics that improve durability and efficiency. First, the flex shaft angle is bigger than the average rc outboard (113 vs ~100 degrees in retail rc outboards) and second, the end piece of the flex shaft is based on two mini high rpm ball bearings.

…a real build without cnc and 3d printing…is a real build by a real builder…formed and shaped by eye and hand…put together cnced and 3ds parts is assembling and not building…and yes…its valid for scanning compaired to handdrawn or sculpted…as an artist with a fifty years trained eye…i spot the real thing and the unsexy dead expression miles away…nice build and well done and let us all keep using eye and hands…there is a difference that matters all…

Wow thats cool! How did you make the CF pieces? Do you have a 3d cutter or something like that? Isnt this hard to cut clean with regular cutters? How about a jigsaw with a metal blade on it, or a small disc cutting wheel maybe. Not sure which would be the best if you had no other way like me..

Thank you very much MX!! This is a fully handmade build. The process I follow to cut the carbon fiber plates is the following: 1) draw and glue a template made of paper on the CF plate, 2) use a standard cutting wheel to easily cut the CF plate according to the template 3) file or sand the edges to be as close as possible to the template. As for the aluminum parts you can use a cheap small table disc saw from AE to cut according to the templates and then filing and sanding. It's a long term process which may take months but the result usually compensates you.
