Homemade cinnamon rolls on the other hand - mine anyway - are made with flour, yeast, sugar, butter, milk, cream, real vanilla extract, cream cheese. My mom makes the best homemade cinnamon rolls in the world. She makes them once a year for christmas/new years. My great grandmother was a baker during the great depression and a lot of the family recipes, including those cinnamon rolls, were passed down from her. There is only one bakery that I've ever been to that can really mimic the taste and consistency of those cinnamon rolls. They are also the best post-new years hangover food ever.

They become so much better the more layers you have in the bun. He had 3 layers in his homemade. When mom swings by on my birthday she always brings cinnamon rolls and I request them with at least 8 layers or so. They are so damn good.
